Worst kept secret amongst the vineyards 😉. As I’ve stated earlier Cats will play finals in 2025. My 2nd favourite team wahgunyah sound like they’re doing quite well on the track with numbers and have picked up some good senior footballers from Cdhbu,Finley and a few travellers from Melbourne. It’s not all rainbows and lollipops though, police involved once again as a committee member has been caught stealing money from the club. Never seen a club have so many shit people stealing
who misses top 5 Rambles.

Mitta will be back in the 5, extra money in their cap due to location, hearing some young o&m players being offered 4 figures a game plus all expenses.

yack, kiewa, chiltern, mitta, beechworth

Didn’t think Mitta paid players. Or did that Myth die with their glory days ?

Unsure on names, club is trying to keep it all hush for some reason. The coach is telling his committee that they’ve picked 20+ new players which is good for the club. How many points do the lions get in 2025? They only had 6 points spare in round 18 last season when they used 41/47.

Give them what they need.
Same as their Neighbours in the O and M

Seems strange from a club POV that they want to keep their new recruits quiet. I would have thought that a struggling club would want to get their recruits out there to create some hype and hopefully bring in more and more potential recruits...

Interesting that there hasn't really been much recruitment news from the likes of Chiltern, Kiewa, Yak and Beechworth of late. Been very quiet even before the new year.

Mitta the standouts? I'm not getting sucked in by Rutherglen to be honest. Other then Brennan, the rest of their recruits are very sub par who dont add much to what they've already got.

I think in-house the Cats would have been disappointed with last seasons finish hence why I rekon they will be big improvers. They have arguably 2 of the top 5 players in the league that are a class above.
Don't know much about other recruits they have but they will add experience by looks

By the sounds of it they won't have Brennan every game. After him and Van Berlo I think there is a big drop in terms of class and talent. I think adding more depth will certainly help, just not sure if it's the difference between where they were last year to being a top 5.

I see Thurgoona have signed Nicholas Sharp from Barny. Handy little player for them and I think he kicked close to 40 goals back in 2023.

Other than that, not much recruiting action elsewhere.

Young Cody Howard is a great get for the doggies will dominate games but it sounds as if the doggies haven’t been able to cover all their losses and their depth will definitely be tested this season
