The thing I like are the themes of good kicking, football IQ and competitiveness. This feels like the first time we've identified traits we lack and have gone out and targeted them. Prior years seemed a bit scattergun.

Not sure the F1 was ever on the table but there has been talk we did try and trade up with some of the other picks.

Was Essendon's decision to trade pick 9 shrewd or a monumental blunder?

Essendon appeared to make a major error in judgement by shipping pick No. 9 on opening night of the AFL Draft, but was the decision more calculated?

I feel like him going through the process himself in 2004 helps with this.
