I'm actually pleased to hear that.

18 year old beanpole - might well become a very good player in time, but for now, could be exposed if he's appointed to a key defensive post.
Hopefully one out with Amartey in the goalsquare and earns a nickname of Matt "Keane" Whitlock by the end of it.

Could also play forward and kick 5.

Wouldn't be changing too much from the side that beat Freo - Papley out, Sheldrick to the 22 and Cleary as sub:

B Rampe - McCartin - Wicks
HB Blakey - Hamling - Roberts
C Lloyd - Jordon - Florent
HF Ch Warner - McLean - Campbell
F Hanily - Amartey - Hayward
R Grundy - Heeney - Rowbottom
INT Ladhams (FWD/Ruck) - Bice (HB) - Co Warner (HF)- Sheldrick (Mids)- Cleary (sub)

Hopefully...

Out: Ladhams Papley
In: Cleary Sheldrick (from sub) Mitchell
Sub: Mitchell

If the only factor is form, Cleary is into the 22, without a 2nd thought.

Sheldrick lucky to retain his spot I think, and I have high hopes on him still. But no-one challenging besides Cleary who can come in for Paps.

Ladhams doesn't deserve to be dropped but I still want to move away from Ruck + 3 KPFs. Some will argue Grundy should go, but he was better, than his first couple of games, and than Ladhams in their primary ruck role.

If Ladhams stays in, and Sheldrick or Mitchell make way from the 23 (as above), I won't be too upset though.

I suspect sometimes the long bomb is strategic, sometimes it is panic, and more than a few times, there simply is no other option.
I think our players take too long to bring the ball in on most entries, therefore the options dry up. But in saying that, I have seen our players ignore perfectly good leads for a long bomb. It's the game plan.

Yeah, Teakle. Got outrucked (by hitouts at least) by Reeves last week in VFL, with minor support from Goad. Kicked 1.4.

CCJ injured.

1 ruck and McLean should be able to handle Teakle, would go a bit smaller this week.
Who is going to handle Xerri? Xerri will annihilate an undersized ruck if he finds himself confronted by one.

The post you responded to related to who the backup was (Teakle), if Xerri doesn't get up for the game. He's named, but don't think it's a lock.
And we literally have a ruck trifecta in Grundy Ladhams and McLean. I'd be more worried for the ruck match if I was North than Sydney especially with Xerri not at 100%

Xerri will dominate Grundy in the ruck contests, and yet Sydney will still win comfortably. North’s backline is horrible. Luke McDonald is their only truly serviceable defender—the rest are mediocre or more suited to specific role-type duties. They lack solid, traditional defenders beyond McDonald. God help them once he’s gone.

I will throw up on myself if Cleary is not in the 22 or is named sub.

By the way, "Xerri" sounds like the name of a Roman emperor, and I just have to ask who the hell does he think he is?
I think Xerri sounds more Arabic. Yes it is a common Sicilian name Roman But has roots in Arabic as well.

The word in Sicilian;
Brawl or Dispute, Bad , Wicked or Clandestine

In Arabic it means;
Bad, Wicked, Clandestine, Bold, Impetuous, Anger

If he beats our rucks up on Saturday I will call him;

A bold, wicked, impetuous boy who caused bad moments and caused a dispute to arise leading to a brawl, which has made me angry because I nearly got arrested. All over his clandestine behaviour in the game. Can somebody please tell him;

RUCKS CANNOT PASS THE BALL, THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HOPELESS KICKS

Keen to see Cleary, felt Ladhams deserved to stay in. Xerri is a physical beast so running the tandem setup is probably the best way to combat (given Grundy's tank issues)

Glad Cleary is back. I hope he's not sub. We need his speed and his pressure.

Sheldrick needs game time having played SFA the last two weeks, but given the reserves play the day after, I'd be fine with him being sub again and then playing in the VFL next day if he has to.
If we follow our normal practice of the fifth person named on the bench being the sub then that will be Cleary.
