You're just continuing to make yourself look stupid. Goddard was brlliant in GF1 and the first half of GF2, when the game was on the line, while Swan had very little impact. Swan only really started to get into the game when Collingwood got on top in the 2nd half of GF2 mainly thanks to Jolly dominating a much younger ruckman in McEvoy.

Goddard could only keep doing so much on his own with little support and once the dam wall broke and Collingwood ran away with it he probably stopped trying as hard while the Collingwood players like Swan got their tails up.

I've watched the replay about 50 times. The commentators crapped on about Goddard in the first half but he was not damaging. He got all his kicks in the back 50, either via kicking in to himself, or short passes to the back pocket from a kick in. He was good in the first half but not damaging. Brilliant in the first game but very far from brilliant in the 2nd.

Goddards game is powering ahead while Swans disposal is becoming poorer by the game.

Can't disagree with that, t's almost like he's forgotton how to kick, atleast he's getting a bit of it though, goddards been better too lately, swan's still a mile ahead though.

Got to love Collingwood supporters, can't handle that any opposition player could be considered better than one of their own. The poll doesn't lie, Goddard is considered a better player by the majority of people.

Also if Goddard is a half back flanker that is so easy to tag then why did he tear Collingwood a new one all over the ground in GF1?

As for Swan being more talented, I've never seen Swan take a mark like this.

Yeah, and a comparison between two exceptionally good players doesn't warrant a thought out post.

Idiot posting.

As in a better single game?

No as in the very best of Goddard was better.

To explain; Swan was, for several years in the top 3 or 4 mids in the game and top 5-10 players in the game. So he was ELITE for quite a long period of time. Yet despite his Brownlow, I don't think anyone would seriously have made the suggestion that he was THE best player in the game.

Goddard spent probably two years there where he was a consideration for BEST player in the game (or at least around that 2-5 range).

I must have been drunk, or in a coma, when Goddard was considered a contender for the number 1 player in the game.

Also you vastly underrated Swam. I would argue he was in the top 2-3 players in the game from 2010-2011

Goddard isn't even in the same class as Swan, to suggest so is to insult Swan.

Geezus daft statements like this really show the total lack of awareness of the poster in question.

It's perfectly ok to consider Swan better - in a strange twist it looks like I voted 'Goddard' in this poll whilst he was a St Kilda player, and yet now have changed my mind to Swan. And as I explained above, it's because Swan maintained a consistently elite standard for several years.

Now here's the funny shit:

seriously if you ask me they're probably at about the same level, they just excel in different areas.

You yourself thought in 2011 that they were 'about the same'.

But yet five years later, with Swan playing no better in that time, all of a sudden it's an insult to Swan to compare them?

Get your head out of your arse - you're biased as all hell and incapable of discussing this.

January 2011.

What did Goddard go on to achieve after that?

I can tell you what swan achieved.

Like I said, completely incapable of discussing it.

Suggesting it is an insult to compare them is bloody daft.
