For the ruck i say Brad Ottens - massive pre-season and didn't drop a mark. Michael Gardiner at 291k could end up being a bargain. Resurrection of his career may be? Still think he has got some issues though. Sheedy overlooked him! That’s saying something.

Cam Cloke has looked ok in the nab cup, and at 150k good pick up as a 3-4 ruckman

going by early indications, david rodan at 150 K could be a very handy pickup indeed.
There are some terrific signs regarding Rodan; last year he fooled everyone but this year I think with a new club and new direction he can average 70 in SC even with limited gametime

Gardiner will probably play his first game round 2 or 3 though, according to Ken Sheldon on channel 10 news.

Heres my smokeys:

Ted Richards - Roos loves him and he will play 22 games, doing very well in the preseason..not a bad price

Birchall - good value - will average 90+

Gibson - will be the Joel Bowden on Nth

Richetelli (sp?) - Matthews loves his young mids and with Black will be big scorers.

Foley - Absolute steal at this price - with Coughlan out for the year will see him spend bgig minutes on the ball

Rodan - Will play 22 games and is playing for his life. Great preseason form

Hudson - Good Price and will be Crows number one ruck - great scorer in 2005

Everitt - Wins heaps of taps and will kick goals and take marks. Save your money on Cox and Lade - as Spider will give similar service

Sandilands - Will get the most hitouts for the season and is improving his all ground game

Kochinske (sp?) - Steal at his price, have to have him in, if he has a couple of good games early...price will rise and then trade him when he gets injured.

N. Brown - Similar to Kochinske. Will be Tigers go to man and will rack of good possies

I'm torn between Gibson and Roughhead, both players are around the same price and I reckon will take the next step up this year.

Thoughts?

That's what I'm leaning towards, just feel Roughhead might go forward and kick some goals this year.

Gibson will be more consistent I think, where as Roughy might be a touch variable.

Gibson is just way too expensive for my liking. At best, 70 - 80 pts vs $319K?? I dont think so.

Possible Selections for SC

I'm looking at various line-ups for a number of positions, namely:

7th Forward
3rd Ruck (1st Bench)
9th Forward (2nd Bench)
9th Defender (2nd Bench)

1. Damon White/Brad Fisher/Joel Patful, Hudson, Matt Campbell, Riggio/Ellis
2. Andrew McDougall, Hudson, Alwyn Davey, Tim Boyle
3. Andrew McDougall, Darcy, Matt Campbell, Tim Boyle
4. Andrew McDougall, Darcy, Alwyn Davey, Riggio/Ellis
5. Jay Schultz, Darcy, Alwyn Davey, Tim Boyle
6. Adam Pattison, Darcy, Alwyn Davey, Tim Boyle/Lachlan Hansen

Would have posted a poll, but I screwed up and can't change it now.

Cash Cows

Alot of good younger players as well as previously injured players this year with potential to increase dramaticly in price. Interested to know who people are expecting big things from this yr. obviously n.Brown, darcy, kosy are cheap this yr after one being stars of DT. any others?

Fremantle fans thoughts on Andrew Browne? Played very well in both NAB Cup games I saw of theirs. How likely is he for a start, particularly early in the season with those few suspensions hanging around?

a chance to start round1 with matt carr out, he is a good player for his price.

When are Nigel Lappin and Richard Hadley goin to play and what do you think of them as bench players

Lappin has played 3/4's of football in a small time practice match !!! will be surprised if his in the team rd 1 !!! however, awsome player and watch for his return!!!!

As for hadley, doubt he'll be seen in the first few rds. !!!! better than a bench player IMO.

I'd be surprised if Lappin didn't play round 1. He had a full preseason and only got an elbow injury when the NAB Cup started. He is one of those guys who mantains a very high fitness level so I think he will be alright. Hadley I don't think will return until round 6 or so.
