im just wondering about chris masten...last year he averaged only in the high 60s which i think is very low for a player of his caliber. as we all know he has a huge engine adn in his first year he scored quite well in dt which shows he knows how to rack up the possies. so what i want to know is why do u think he scored so last year and do u think he can improve on it this year?

His DT score average was low because he played in the forward line in the first half of the year before moving into the midfield due to a resticted pre season.

Same reason for Dangerfield playing mostly as a foward last year i gather. As a Crows supporter, do you think he will spend more time in the midfield this year.

Nah, you're right. Both quality young players who get lots of it.

Other backmen who are worth a look would be Will Schofield, Scott Selwood, as well as Jordan Jones and Ash Smith. Although the last two are only in their second year.
Cheers mate , what do you reckon about Matt Spangher is he worth a buy over Suban???

Nah i'd go with Suban. He'll play all 22 whereas the Spang as much as I and many others on this board love him, realise he probably won't play regularly.

Am having trouble deciding between Dalziell and Masten. They're around the same price for anyone who didn't know. Thoughts?

After last night, def Masten. Here is my DT thoughts after last nights match.

Dalziell - Thought he was as a lock at $320k but gone after last night.
Kerr - Was a maybe but now a lock. At $270k he is cheap and I think will play 20 odd games and average 85+.
Masten - Good but not convinced. Will watch NAB first. Have him or Dangerfield fighting for the same spot and Danger's being a Fwd as well currently has him in
Shuey - simply a must have!!!
Nicnat - Him or Ottens for the 2nd ruck spot. If Nicnat can average over 70 in the NAB he will get the spot.
Hurn - At $311k I think we will be worth it. Expect him to improve to a 80+ season and be a perfect 5-6th defender and a keeper.
Cox - Not starting with him but hopefully an upgrade target
Swift - If he was $50k cheaper would be a lock. Not sure if he is going to average the 85-90 needed to make him a keeper.

Can't see anyone else having enough upside to consider. Maybe Waters but needs to get on the park first.

Is Kerr as good a bargain as I think he is, and could Kennedy play all 22 and be considered a keeper? I remember liking what I saw last year, what are your opinions on him? Next big thing?

Brett Jones - Chances of playing all 22 games and replicating his 07 and 08 form?

He had a good intraclub match last night, I think most of us would agree on that but we tend to be unloyal to older 3rd talls.

I think that we're more likely to give chances to guys like Spangher and Schofield then we are to give Jones 22 games, so I guess my answer is no.

IF Kerr stays injury free and maintains his discipline he will be a bargain, fingers cross he stays that way.

Kennedy is a lock for the CHF position and will play all 22 unless he has a dramatic drop in form or is injured. As for next big thing? you'd like to hope so but I'd like to keep things under wraps for now and let his football do the talking in that regard.

Have to agree on this, will be shuffled out by the clubs youth policy which is a shame.

Kennedy will play all 22 games if he's not injured. He's the best key forward we have at the club and probably the first one in a decade who looks like he could be elite.

Kerr is certainly healthy but I'm not convinced. Even Luke Shuey was able to tagg him out of the game and Luke's no tagger.

Another question guys

How is Tom Swift looking? Will he be playing all 22 this season and do you think he'll be a good pick up for SC?

Thanks

If he stays fit Swift will play all 22 IMO, he's looked good in pre-season and will hopefully build on his impressive form at the end of last season.

Alright, thanks a lot! Personally I have a strange feeling he'll do good things.:thumbsu:

What do you guys reckon... Scooter or the Beast?

Mitch's job is probably a bit safer then scooters and he averages a bit higher and more consistenly, but on the other hand scooter has had a full pre season and could have stints through the midfield Which may increase his score... I'm absolutely torn!

Is there any way to access the Dream Team site if an unsporting IT department has blocked it? I'm not too cluey on stuff like that but it would certainly be nice to be able to edit my squad from work during lunch rather than at home!
