FB: Wilkie - Howard - Webster
HB: NWM - Battle - Windhager
C: Hill - Steele - Wood
HF: Butler - King - Henry
FF: Higgins - Sharman - Cordy
R: Marshall - Crouch - Sinclair
I: Owens - Dow - Phillipou - Ross
S: Rotational

I think we want to get Sincs on ball in 2024.

WIth Windy playing HB late in 2023, Paton & Stocker being on the edge of the team, on top of Bonner and Shoenmaker being drafted... We are absolutely flush with options at half back.

I'd like to see King up the ground a little more. Get him moving for his marks instead of fighting 1v2 and then getting into his own head with the "easy" shots.

I think our front half worked best when Cordy was taking the deep ball and chopping out in the ruck. Membrey could do this if he's ready but we will see what happens.

Sharman has to play. He's so dynamic with his marking ability. Reminds me of Jeremy Howe. THAT is the sort of player I'd be happy to have flying 1v3 on a deep ball.

I think the rest pick themselves at the moment. Ross on the borderline. If his hammy goes again then Stocker, Wilson, Paton, Clark etc are right there.

Pretty exciting list TBH.

We just need to pray that RoMa stays fit. If he goes down then so do our finals hopes.
I think we'll put a blank check in front of Sean Darcy next year.

I wasn’t going to do a best 22 this early but it’s a bit boring now training’s finished this year so here goes:

Webster Caminiti Wilkie
Sinclair Battle NWM
Henry Steele Wood
Hill King Phillipou
Owens Membrey Higgins

Marshall
Windhager
Dow

Int:
Crouch
Jones
Wilson
Butler

Sub:
Bonner

I find it hard to get my head around people not having Sharman in their best 22. I know the team depends a bit on who we are playing against but I'm extremely bullish on him and at the end of the season he was back to great form. Clean mark, clean kick, lock him at FF. King at CHF because he kicks better from there than he does from 20m out on a slight angle (which he can often miss).

Windhager has taken a big step in the off-season, elite runner, good in traffic and STRONG.

Howard seemed to be spending time as a fwd and a defender at the most recent training, I feel Cordy is ahead of him still.

Jones was looking better, always has been good at winning the pill in the middle, but he finally seemed to be making smarter decisions (giving the hands off or going to short and certain option, rather than blazing away).

Bonner looks determined as he should, more than a handy back up.

I would have LOVED McLean from Sydney. Perfect player for us ATM.

Not a heap of options in 2024 so alot on the development of Heath and Keeler.

Great effort with the side you've put together. I really like Sharman at full forward. He could end up a Mihocek type for us which would be incredible alongside King. Hopefully some healthy competition between the likes of Sharman, Caminiti, Keeler and Hayes will help them all to improve.

Don't think he's the same type as Mihocek, Sharman not a great body on body 1v1 player but exceptional on the lead or with a run and jump.

I reckon this is about right with an asterisks on Cordy and Clark.
I'd probably see Clark or Jones as sub, but as for the now I'd still expect Doogs to be in front and Wilson to be prioritized.

The reason people don't have Sharman is because we definitely wouldn't pick a tall like Membrey on the bench and if he's fit and healthy he plays, so Sharman has to go out to make room. And imo seems unlikely we'd go with a three tall forward line given everything that's been said about leg speed.

Agree I think it would be Membrey or Sharman rather than both
