Just the start of it all. VFL, AFL and academies now the priority. The people running the game don’t care.

8 home games only…
Worst part, is there are people out there at grassroots level, with the skill and passion, who would gladly run competitions, if it wasn't just a political game now.

Hearing whispers Brighton are light on for U18 boys numbers - with O’Byrne spruiking four games each Saturday (Seniors, Reserves, Colts, Women) - it’ll be terrible for the SFL if Brighton can only get two of the four sides on the park!

Meanwhile Cygnet under 18s will hardly have another team to play.

Almost like they shouldn’t been in the premier league instead…

Bloody hell, she’s like Masterules in the middle - playing once a fortnight!
Yeah I'm kinda wondering what the reason for all the byes is? Surely the players would start to get disgruntled at not playing every week, especially in that middle part of it. Hard to get momentum up.
Ironic that they've gone back to regional to get crowds to start following it again yet they hardly even play.

I’m assuming all the weeks off through the middle match up with weekends the state games are on.

So assuming half the state side is from up North and NW, that leaves roughly a dozen getting picked from SFL clubs. So because 12 are missing, means the other 120 senior players have to miss regular games.

That could be the only reason they've done that, surely?
Wouldn't make sense to only play 16 rounds with big gaps in it otherwise.
Wonder if they're any closer to releasing the "Community League" roster? Division 1 and Division 2 sounds less poxy in my opinion.

I've been wondering about that, I've been keeping an eye out for it on the SFL page but nothing has been said about it just yet.

They’d have been better off playing 20 rounds in the Premier League than the current nonsense.

They will have more games next year once VFL is here you would think?

The ‘community league’ (which should just be called Div 2) I assume haven’t released a fixture due to the fact hardly anyone trains so clubs aren’t sure if they can field 4 teams?

New Norfolk struggling for numbers I hear.
Strange as I thought they looked to be doing better last year after a few problems in recent years.

Supposedly they have a lot of numbers on training, just haven't committed to the club for the season ahead, so it's been said anyways.

Any idea on how many Division two Under 18/19s teams will go ahead?

Cygnet
Huonville
Lindisfarne ( heard combined with Clarence)
Sorell ( had one last year, didn’t win)
Hobart ( apparently attempting one)
Dodges Ferry ( no idea)
Claremont (surely not)
New Norfolk ( surely not)

Cygnet, Sorell, Hobart, Lindisfarne are the best bets for teams. Huonville really struggling. Sad really. Should be more of a push from the League and the clubs. Free rego or something to entice a few more to come along.

Is it viable with three teams? I believe the leagues need to make a separate Friday Comp for under 18s with all the Sputhern teams in. Would be an 8-9 team comp only anyways.

Probably not. There should be 4. Short of being competitive with Brighton I'm not sure it would do the already struggling team any good to play against Clarence Glenorchy and Kingborough. Maybe 2 div Friday night comp with grading games??
