There was a sequence of 3 Geelong players who tried to barge tackles or fend off and dropped the ball for there to be a scrimmage and the Port player to give away a free kick for holding the ball when he couldn't get it clear lucky I didn't have beer or the TV would have been in trouble

Please excuse the intrusion of an outsider, but just wanted to say congrats on a great season - you guys will be challenging seriously next year. Am posting on this thread because I think the umpires did change the likely course of the game tonight. Geelong won the first half of Q1, you guys won the rest of Q1 and all of Q2 before Geelong took over in Q3. Q4 was up for grabs, but the crap decisions stopped your boys from getting any momentum (till the umps decided that it was time to re-balance the count, when it was too late). McInerny is simply too emotinal. When Geelong goes on a roll, he feels the need to contribute.

Geelong should have won by more but I don't worry about corruption in the AFL because there are no other sports where games have been rigged for money.

Dodgiest umpiring I've seen in a Cats game since last week. I thought that permed prick McInerney r*ped you hard, some of the stiffest HTB decisions went against your mob in the last quarter.

Carlile was stiff. Schulz should have picked up a free inside 50 too. But at the end of the day we couldn't stop them from responding whenever we started getting a run on. The run of Motlop and Burns really hurt us from half time, and that wasn't anything to do with the men in yellow.

This happens a few times a year, I'm glad it happened in a final so its not just Port fans that get annoyed.
I just read a lot of the gameday thread on the main board and you could pick any of the 60 pages in find multiple neutral fans raging about how Port are getting r*ped by the umpires

that's the one I had a problem with..i thought he got a fist to it/ spilled in the tackle...play on man with 2 mins to go...wrong time for a whistle as where about to score and make it 6 points....crucial....there where other dodgey ones but that one killed us...

The 1st 3 quarters the umpiring was terrific.

But then the 4th. And one way.

The goal square one against Carlisle.

The one Schultz didn't get.

The throw when we were 10 down steaming (ok that I didn't see but the first paid all night?)

Free after free htb we didn't get, then bang they got one in the same contest of play. Huh?

In the back after in the back we didn't get.

But so utterly, utterly different than the first three quarters.

The Carlile one really stunk as did a handful of late HTBs that had not been paid earlier in the game.
Up until 3/4 time, I thought the umps made poor decisions for both sides, especially in marking contests.
We got a really bad run throughout the last quarter. Felt for Bobby and for Kane - what a brain fade to play the advantage so deep in defence and not have a plan to move the ball on quickly.

Look I gotta be honest. I hate the umpires as much as the next guy.

In fact, I thought very seriously about jumping the fence once and using Krav on one arseh*le umpire back in 04. I then thought about throwing a beer bottle I smuggled in, and hurling it at another arseh*le umpire in about 06.*

Having said that, tonight just seemed your run of the mill shit umpiring. Didnt think it reeked of corruption. Lets move on. This thread is Bovine shit, seriously. We were beaten by a better team.
