The young woman, identified as 23yo Chloe Jade Mason was found with a gunshot wound, unconscious and not breathing, outside a home in Caboolture shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Police were called at about 12.10am to reports of a targeted attack on Railway Pde.

Upon arrival, they found the woman could not be revived and was declared dead at the scene.

“Harbison said police did not believe the incident was a random attack, and investigations suggested those involved were known to each other.”
Ok, and that’s all well and good, but police have also said they don’t know who they are and they don’t have any suspects.

So I am just wondering, how they can be so sure that alleged offenders were known to the victim if they’ve no idea who they are?

They weren't chasing and gunning down in public a random stranger. The police know what this woman is about.

I get that, but the idea that the cops have no suspects and yet there’s no cause for alarm in terms of public safety, just seems a little incongruous.

Also, she’s not the perfect victim but there’s no excuse for this kind of violence. Let’s say she had an unpaid debt…How do the cops know they won’t target her friends and/or family next?

I daresay the cops have a lot more information than they are letting on.

I’m sure they have a full profile on the victim, but they seem like they are still looking for witnesses.

They have released a video that was taken at the crime scene at the time of the alleged murder.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that at the time of her death, Ms Mason was facing a string of charges in the Brisbane Magistrates and Supreme courts.

She had previously been sentenced 18 months in jail after being convicted of drug supply.

A close friend took to social media to pay tribute to her 'jail sister', recalling how they would communicate through prison cell vents during evening lockdowns.

'Rest in peace CeeJay Mason,' the post began. 'We will all miss you so f***ing much my jail sister, fly high huni.'

Regarding CeeJay Mason, the police still have not apprehended the two persons of interest in the case.

How is that?

“The names of two men who detectives would like to speak to in relation to the murder of a 23-year-old woman in Caboolture has been released as investigations continue.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 29-year-old Codye Thomson and 32-year-old Kaine Thomson-Gleeson.

So it looks like they’re brothers, possibly.

Attached is a 7 News grab which contains portions of what seems to be a QPOL video of the Queensland police questioning what seems to be either 29-year-old Codye Thomson and/or 32-year-old Kaine Thomson-Gleeson, both of whom have been since issued with arrest warrants in connection with the murder of Chloe (CeeJay) Mason.

Of course now we know that since that video was taken by police and after conversations occurred, Coyde and Kaine have taken off from sunny Caboolture and are at large, presumably somewhere in Northern NSW.

And police want to re-interview the men. Did they forget to ask them, “did you shoot Chloe Mason?” Like why couldn’t they have brought them down to the Caboolture Police Station (which is massive and well equipped to be ground zero for a homicide investigation) and at least done a proper lengthy interview with each brother?

How could they let them get away? When they had them. They had them.

This is the Go Fund Me set up by Chloe’s sister to help the family to pay for her funeral expenses. https://gofund.me/3b000daf

I was expecting an update from the family via the Go Fund Me on the latest developments, but as far as I know they’ve not commented yet since the arrest warrants were issued.

Bringing you an update on the murder case of young Chloe Mason in Caboolture.

Man arrested is claiming “self defence.”

A solicitor for one of two brothers accused of shooting dead a woman after chasing her down a residential street has claimed his client acted in response to an armed threat.

Codye Ian Thomson, 29, of Marsden, and Kaine Raymond Thomson-Gleeson, 32, of Caboolture, had their one charge each of murder mentioned for the first time in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The pair were arrested without incident in Logan, south of Brisbane on Monday and remanded in custody.

What is not in dispute in this case is that Chloe Mason came to the front of Kaine’s house armed with a rifle,” Mackenzie said.

“Kaine explained to police he did not kill Chloe. What he did, he did to defend his home and his family against a murderous attempt.”

Chloe Jade Mason, 23, died after she was allegedly chased down and shot on Railway Parade in Caboolture on December 22.

The brothers, accused of the shooting murder of a Caboolture woman, have told police it was an act of self-defence.

In a stunning claim by his lawyer, it was the victim, Chloe Jade Mason, who was armed with a rifle the night she was gunned down.

“His hands cuffed, his fingers up… this is Kaine Thomson-Gleeson,” the reporter states as Kaine is driven away to the Police Watch House in Brisbane.

Cut to the day after the alleged murder:

One of the murder suspects is spoken to by a news camera operator. The camera operator states:

“You’re touching my equipment mate.”

To which he replies:

“No, you put your equipment on me.”

The following day, (two days post alleged murder), and more of the same behaviour.

Kaine Thomson-Gleeson can be seen walking around the street near the house in question, with police and media present as police were searching the property and said:

“….shot her right in the head! Ha ha!”

He had to be moved on by police who he consequently swore at, using the words “**ck off”.

Meanwhile, police found drugs and weapons in their search.

And it’s after that, after the alleged murderer says “….shot her right in the head! Ha ha!” that the two brothers then go missing. Interstate. For days.

Then the 7News clip finishes with important information regarding next steps:

“A full brief of evidence will be disclosed by police in the Caboolture Court next Monday the 13th of January.”

IMHO, It was probably a blessing for police that they had a few days grace to get a brief together, whilst the brothers were MIA.

It seems like they’re having some issues up there in Brisbane, in terms of keeping the streets safe, solving crime, etc. IMO.

I’m guessing it wasn’t a wine tasting themed murder-mystery dinner type situation. I don’t think the rifle would have been part of a costume or a prop, and it’s the wrong month for Halloween.

And the thing is: You don’t go to Railway Parade Caboolture at night for a casual visit. It is a really scary part of North Brisbane. IMO Dangerous by day and worse at night. If she went alone, she faced danger. Chloe was a 23 year old woman. She’s vulnerable. She’s also pretty, and some men may have found her to be attractive. So, lots of danger. A high-risk visit.

Maybe she went to the house knowing she was going to have a hard conversation. And maybe she brought the gun with her to protect herself, and then it ended up getting used to harm her.

Let’s see what the QLDPOL brief has on the weapon. I’m curious about that.

They’re not so incompetent as to not be able to fingerprint a weapon, and those brothers don’t seem bright enough to be wearing gloves, do they? So let’s see who the cops think held that gun.

And sure as sh** Chloe and her two alleged murderers will have their fingerprints on file, so that part will be ‘simples’ for the police.
