Can someone please explain why East Brighton (I assume it is) are called the All Stars?

There coach is really known on the peninsula not all for good reasons. When he moved to east Brighton he snagged some really good Sorrento players and a couple more from the mpnfl that’s the reason why they are called the peninsula all stars. Used bulk cash to get them in but seems like they are doing it all the right way with a 19s in the system now so hats off to them

He may have only got 1 or 2 Sorrento players in but bulk other Peninsula lads. Did hear the cheque book has got a good working over

How did Beena v Oremond go
Beena beat Oremond by about 10 goals , well coached and played well, the home side had no ruck and quite a few to return
Beena will be very competitive
Fantastic to have 2 local teams , a club like Oremond would be better out of the VAFA

Yes, Bedders, it was a staggering loss for the club. Ormond would be better off being able to pay players. The idea of players playing for Ormond for the glory like they did in the old days is long gone. players want $$$$$. Still it is days like this that Ormond must keep their head up.

St Pauls drew with Parkdale Vultures.

So SNFL Div 1 is about VAFA Div C standard.

Bedders, no one gives a **** if your beloved Ormond is spelt wrong. This is big footy not an English class.

Also are you going to suck off Tolongs in person today when you see him and then slag him off here after the game?
Listen Knackers Steve and i had a great laugh about this , he kicked a couple and then did his Hammy

St Paul's won by a point

Parkdale will probably go upto prem B in 2026 who St Paul’s drew with.
Chelt beat Hampton who are new to prem B in 2025, which may mean they’ll be near the bottom.
Murrumbeena beat Ormond who are confident to go deep in D1, which means they are a likely C team in 2026.

I’d suggest SFNL is like somewhere in the range of prem B which is much improved over the last couple of seasons.

Beena will have few 19s playing seniors they are very good
Ormond as i posted had a few out who will make a difference , it was a good day with both clubs getting on well on and off the ground , pity it can't be permanent , you never know what will happen , always rumours of Beaumaris and Parkdale leaving for the SFNL

At best, as you have indicated, the best teams in the SNFL are bottom of Prem B/top of Prem C in the VAFA.

The top Prem B teams would smash them.

Well, it might be possible that there is an amalgamation of Murrumbeena and Ormond in the future. That could be what these praccy games are sowing the seeds for in the future. There just isn't enough players or money in the area. And with Indians and Chinese coming into the area, the football producing population is being diluted. As you have said yourself Bedders, there are far too many teams in the small Bentleigh catchment area and at some stage, through natural attrition, there will be amalgamations or one teams taking over from the other team as we have seen at under 19 level where Ormond have taken on board about 7 or 8 of the St Pauls under 19s and Glen Eira have no future at all without a junior or under 19 program.

I went to both St Pauls v Parkdale & Ormond v Beena for a half each.

St Pauls looked a different team to last season with a bit of player turnover. Have recruited 2 beasts, not sure if these are the guys from Benalla or not but one got a bit frustrated with the delivery of ball to him. They missed Kreymborg up forward to finish. Parkdale looked the better team from what I saw in the half with better ball movement where St Pauls liked to win contested footy more. I guess its the 2 different game styles between the comps

Hard to read the result from Beena v Ormond. Beena looked good to be close to full strength (everyone debates this in praccy matches) vs Ormond who must have a heap out. No Lucas Cloke for Beena & Tolongs hammy up forward.

No disrespect to Bedford's mob but I'm hoping there was a fair few 2s players out there. Otherwise there was a big difference between C Grade Parkdale & D grade Ormond. If not Beena looked pretty good will not get relegated & Bentleigh may be in a heap of trouble.

No easy games in SFNL Div 1 this year

Div 1 VAFA atm but Ormond are on the climb. There are Div A, B, C and then Div 1 in VAFA. It will be a close game. Ormond and Murrumbeena are about the same standard. It Depends if Scollo plays for Murrumbeena.

I can say as the treasurer, you are incorrect on a few points here but go on.........

smashed doveton in yesterday's praccy how are st paul's shaping up for 25? I can't get a read on them at all, but I think they should still play finals

I am tipping that St Pauls will be very hard to beat this year and will win the flag.

Some of their new recruits haven’t even played yet because they have had cricket commitments. The guy they have picked up from Benalla Saints in Wade King is a goal kicking gun and will dominate the SNFL and Blake Uebergang also from Benalla Saints is another who will tear the SNFL apart. Will Dwyer from the Shepparton Swans will put the "fear of god" into most SNFL midfields with his big, bodied attack on the pill. Magnificent Matty O’Brien has put on 8 kilos of muscle and if he doesn’t play for the pies vfl, he will rack up 40 possessions a game in the SNFL for fun. St Pauls also have a couple of young players who have matured that were on a par with Harry Sheezel and George Waldlaw in the juniors and these guys are about to blossom and dominate for the next 10 years. St Pauls have also stolen a couple of Ormond’s finest players as well. How St Pauls pay all these players under the cap is beyond me but old mate, Greg Tivendale as treasurer, you must do some fantastic fascinatingly creative accounting.

The one part you had right here is Matty OBrien getting 40 a game.............. you made a comment about overpaid and I responded because reality is you have no idea what these players are getting paid.
