Official Match Thread Season 22 Round 8: Fighting Furies v Roys FFC @ Punt Road

Two traditional SFA rivals fighting out to keep in touch with the top 8; this one promises to be an epic.

The Furies copped a hiding last week against the Demons and their recent form has been woeful with 4 losses now on the trot and they have the worst percentage in the league. Not sure what has gone wrong given their start to the season but this game is a great opportunity to get their season back on track.

The Roys have had a spluttering start to the season, made worse by the fact they lost 4 valuable premiership points due to team sheet issues. That said, their percentage is excellent – third best in the league, in fact – so their good is excellent but their bad is terrible. If they can get themselves up for this one, I can see a big win. The Roys are my smoky for a late season charge into the top eight.

The Furies at home is always a daunting task but the Roys have the experience and the better form.

That almost happened. I won't name the old gentleman involved but it did almost happen.

Royvolution is a one week thing, even with all the viagra they take you can't possibly expect them to keep it up for longer than a week.

Sterge you don't need this kind of abuse. We here at the Roys pride ourselves on looking out for one another. We have Hug Wednesdays and Show and Tell on a Friday, where we all bring in something we found on the street and try to work out what it is. A Bit High brought in some chewing gum last week and that was fun. It was only when fitzroybowiedog got it stuck on his dentures that could identify the flavour (it was Big Red cinnamon if you're interested). Oh we laughed. Especially when nurse Allikat started tugging on it (the gum, filthy) and we had to send Klim wading out into the fish pond to retrieve his teeth. Willo_ didn't actually bring anything this week. But he has promised donuts and strippers for next week.

We love dogs! We even appointed one skipper. As for Big Red. We have heaps left. We got a lifetime supply in lieu of sponsorship money when Big Red was on our list but frankly it has been banned by the team doc as a "substance hazardous to health, by way of causing heart attack level laughter when consumed". It's your signing on fee if you want it.
