Wicks moving to the backline helpsIn his re-signing video, Campbell says he's been playing a forward role now.
Just who does he replaceWicks moving to the backline helps
I feel like Tmac forward is purely a Cox trying to demonstrate he's doing something different kinda 'thing'. Low risk high reward in the hopes that it could potentially come off as a masterstroke to add a positive stamp to the start of his career as a coach.Hope McCartin isn't forward. I only say that due to the concussion issue.
Having said that, it would really leave us short in KPD with only Melican. That won't get it done against pretty much any team in the competition.
Just a part of going smaller down there. Every team this year is going to play at least 1 extra small forward than usual, so we won't be the only team adding an extra small defender. Plus whats the chances all defenders stay fit. Can't imagine Rampe and Melican being fit for every game.Just who does he replace
Cunningham? Just in case of an injury, so we have a similar player ready to go?Just who does he replace
Hopefully Wicks can settle into a role down there, but I reckon the hierarchy would be Cunners, Fox, Paton first at this stage. Still, who knows.Cunningham? Just in case of an injury, so we have a similar player ready to go?
I'm happy to see how TMac goes up forward but it leaves Melican on an island in the backline. Rampe will battle again but how are we going to manage against the likes of the Blues or anyone with multiple KPFs?
Bice will play back before WicksJust a part of going smaller down there. If i'm going to trust anyone to go down there and menace a small forward it's Wicks. He has the right attributes.
Most probably no one if we're fully fit but means that Campbell won't be needed down there and can focus on playing forward. They've essentially swapped positions on our overall playing list.Just who does he replace

I think Tommy should stay back. I'd prefer we go with two tall forwards and we should have that position covered between Amartey, Mclean, McDonald and Buller.I'm happy to see how TMac goes up forward but it leaves Melican on an island in the backline. Hamling ain't registering a game for this club. Francis will be in ahead of hamlingI think Tommy should stay back. I'd prefer we go with two tall forwards and we should have that position covered between Amartey, Mclean, McDonald and Buller.
However, if we go down the path of Tommy as a forward, one of Hamling, Francis or Edwards needs to come in to play the second key defensive post. Snell I view as a third tall who might challenge Rampe eventually.
I'd back in Hamling initially then hopefully Edwards comes on a bit as the season progressed such that we can debut. If Francis ends up being our best option, end the Tommy forward experiment ASAP.
Yeah agreed.I feel like Tmac forward is purely a Cox trying to demonstrate he's doing something different kinda 'thing'. Low risk high reward in the hopes that it could potentially come off as a masterstroke to add a positive stamp to the start of his career as a coach.
Reality is we all know what's more likely to happen - Our KPD stocks are as thin as they can get, and as much as I love Melican, he along with Blakey and Rampe are not going to be able to deal with tall forwards, heck we struggled even with Tmac back there in addition to them. Once we start leaking contested marks and games are on the line panic stations will kick in and Tmac will be sent back to defence. Might be all and well in a game or two where we dominate/play teams who don't have as much contested mark ability. But come round 6 he'll be a permanent defender again. Take it to the bank.
How at , 194cm, I'd Snell too small. Andrew would also come into the equation tooIf Edwards isn't up to it you can't move McCartin forward. Too early for Snell to play on the big boys and possibly he isn't big enough anyway. Sorry I didn't make that up plain enough.
Edwards is the key to improvement in our defence (pun intended).
Never intended for Fox or Bice to play as keys. Not sure how you got that idea. Only playing as mediums if Snell wasn't up to playing as the third tall. Forces Blakey to play more accountable but the story gets too long.
Campbell is training forward. I like that. He is a natural small forward who can roam to the wingUp the other end if Campbell does get a start as a forward, then you have Warner?, Paps, McDonald and Hayward as sure things to start there, so who is the other player? Is it Amartey at FF and McLean misses out? Is it McLean and Amartey misses out? Is it both the big guys with one on the bench? Is it McCartin at CHF with McDonald at FF?
That means if Gulden/JMac are the wingers and the midfield is Grundy, Heeney, Rowbottom, Mills, then the bench is going to be loaded with talent. Its going to be another top 2 finish in the H&A season Swans fans, all things being equal of course with a half decent run of injuries.
