If he plays on, he could break it in finals next year. Or fall short by a couple.

I feel if he plays next year he could end up on the “players that went a year too long” thread.

Certainly still going well enough to keep his spot but the end is coming fast.

It’s just the never ending search for content. The game is just a 24/7 content machine, that’s now really its reason for being. Everything is about taking the slightest hint of anything and turning it into the next headline, the next big issue, the next hot take.

A young player who goes poorly is shit and was a terrible draft choice

An old player who goes poorly is finished and should be retired.

Anybody in the middle is out of sorts and could be sensationally dropped, delisted, traded, being shopped around, gettable…

It’s all to do with the real game now: end-of-season list changes. Trades, drafting, retirements, delistings. That’s now the main game - the footy season is just a warm-up for it.

At 36yo and 19 seasons in, Pendles would be near your best player.
