If Mitchell spontaneously combusted tomorrow and Ken was available absolutely!
I think most supporters of other teams would.

Obviously I haven't followed his career as closely as you guys but it seems from the outside that he has made some very good calls and no real screw ups.

The players love him, he trades and drafts well and his gameday tactics have him with the third best win/loss ratio in the game (Better than Clarkson btw).

Hence my bewilderment at this thread
So you’d tradeClarko’s history for Ken’s?

It's clear now that the traditionalists - those who supported Port pre-AFL - have no place in the modern Club. It's all happy clappers, media bites, emojis and perfect pair. The rest of us can presumably go off and find someone else to support :(.

The views of baked-on diehards are not only ignored, the are actively campaigned against. I honestly don't understand why anyone who cares enough to post here on a regular basis can support today's events.

Port's CEO Matthew Richardson said twice on 5AA tonight that Port has been Top 4 "for three years in a row". Bloke doesn't even know his own side's performances.

Lol goes to show they didnt even objectively look at any results in his tenure and just signed him up.

Man I hope I'm wrong about Hinkley. Hell, I wish, I pray, I'm wrong about Hinkley. I just want to see him and the club successful in September. I don't care about anything else. I hold no ill will towards him, I hold it mostly towards the board for their lack of gumption and poor decision making.

However Hinkley just doesn't have that intangible quality that takes him from good coach to great coach and I think 11 years is clearly enough of a sample size.

The way we play, the recurrent themes, the polar extremes in our performances and results. It just all adds up to a team that is good, but just has never found that magic recipe to click. Most of it is down to the football basics and a level of discipline that has forgone this group as they coast through in a very comfortable, familiar football club where elite standards aren't demanded.

To re-sign the guy ahead of the most crucial and defining test that awaits us, and awaits his capability is just baffling.

We have stacked the squad with talent over many years, been premiership favourites many times, we have finished top 4 several times now, but yet no success. Absolutely nothing to hang out hats on, other than the fact we've won some minor round games and demonstrated we've had the list many times that could challenge for something greater.

Right now we have the best midfield in our history, with probably the best forward line and certainly some of the best outside/flanker balance we've ever had. If he can't deliver with this group, then we may well be pissing away what could almost be considered the 3rd era of Hinkleys tenure.

Its just incomprehensible that as supporters, we are expected to just sit there and accept this status quo. A status quo that by all historical indicators is not only unsuccessful but actually all time record breaking lack of success over record time.

The 'lunatic fringe', the 'white noise', far out. I've never felt so disconnected from this club. We've forgotten we exist to try and do whatever it takes to win premierships.

Yep, can only assume it's the strategy. Playing the long game... how many older supporters have already passed or are no longer able to be engaged like they used to.

Everything now is about the post-AFL fan.

Pre-AFL... white noise.

If you think the thunderclouds, expat powers and average facebook commenter is younger than Keninkley well...
