Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe that Melbourne, North Melbourne and Carlton have all had 150ths in the past decade that ended up being disasters. I'm pretty sure Geelong was the only exception, but it still doesn't make me feel very good.

IIRC the first screen in the survey says words to that effect. I'll try and remember to screen shot it next time.

At the end where you can put in your email address to go in the draw for whatever prize there is for completing the survey it also says that your email address will only be used to enter you in the draw and not to identify you in relation to your survey responses. That implies that the survey is anonymous.

As I posted above, anonymous or not it does not alter the way I respond.

I also fully expect the club to exclude my responses from any survey analysis because I am clearly ungrateful.

I don't think the club would exclude any ungrateful ☺ responses because that category would i suspect be a reasonable percentage of survey returns. IMO the reason they had the survey in the first place was to ascertain the level of dissatisfaction, which assists them to then formulate the appropriate spin, smoke and mirrors stuff. Such surveys are more often than not more about damage control than member experience. The chairman of all people, would know about the process because his very employment is the business of spinning, spin. All survey responses would and should be recorded, however there is usually no intention of releasing results of a negative survey, as this one would have been. Rather than release the results they would have been kept in house and notified to a very few, on a need to know basis i would suspect. Ben would be one of the few who need to know because it is his job to recruit members. Not an easy job under the current circumstances. But it would be a case of however and whatever it takes to meet expected targets.

It now seems (unfortunately) to include the worst action of any organization, censorship. For this to occur to a concerned member and supporter who presents nothing other than truthful organization quotes and factual statistics, is IMO disgraceful and should be called out by all supporters for what it is.

A few other truths.
1. All clubs need its members subscriptions and contributions, and our members are thousands more in number than those who sit on chairs at Alberton.
2. Social media platforms are a powerful form of communication and information sharing that helps form or change opinion. It is this very media format that an organization that introduces censorship, fears most.

Sorry for rant. Censorship is a touchy issue with me. I would never have considered my club would do that to an individual for simply stating (inconvenient) truths.

The amazing part is, we are getting criticized for standing up for our culture, traditions and achievements that these happy clapper Ken lovers are trying to make their own. The last 7 years couldn't be further away than what were.

We have KT trying to tell us about our proud history while he is a Norwood man, our arch enemy.

No way I can believe what comes out his mouth when he has worn a Norwood guernsey for over 300 games. He should be sipping a Chai Latte on Norwood Parade after walking his poodle Biffin or whatever, not telling Port supporters about our history.
When the has finished at Port, bet you he's back at Norwood quicker than a rat up a drain pipe.

Going beyond he’s an idiot what’s the truce? We give up our complaints, whilst they give up nothing. I’d at least have some modicum of respect if he/she at least called for those wanting the club to be better to capitulate for a season, rather than trying to sound magnanimous whilst actually proposing giving up nothing themselves.

I think it’s clear the club perceives the negative (factual) social media comments as a real threat to the regime. The pressure continues to mount.

Banning WeWerePortAdelaide & having people like Ben come out and request private messages shows it is working.

They’re happy to take complaints in private because they can easily dismiss it without anyone else knowing. But, put it on a public platform and they’ve got nowhere to hide. Even better, other disgruntled members see it and join the cause.

Great point. He has absolute no foresight or vision at all. All he is doing is collecting a cheque, it is brutal. Playing guys who are delisted a few weeks later is a disgrace. Just like his recruiting of mid tier 25/26/27 year olds. Watts, wow. The most un competitive AFL player in the last decade. Motlop, please. Rockliff and let go Polec, now we are in a mire.

Gold Coast?

Agree, Hinkley knows he'll never get another gig as an AFL senior coach so he's going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of Alberton. His manager did a great job of spooking Koch and the board into giving Hinkley a premature and completely undeserved contract extension with the talk of him breaking his contract to take the Gold Coast job but he must know that he won't get away with that again.

Koch's aim of making Hinkley a ten year coach at Ports would require Hinkley to be given another contract extension next year as Koch will most likely quit after the 150 celebrations are over. That's why it is important that we keep our dissatisfaction with Hinkley's coaching in the club's view. It should make it harder for Koch to sell Hinkley's next contract extension to the board.
