It’s genuinely comical that Koch, Keith and whoever else down there just straight-up convinced themselves that Ken is a premiership coach based on the exposed form of less than 50 games that are now a decade in the rearview mirror.

Ken wasn't at draft night either like horse interestingly however unlike the professional sydney ken will be given a farewell season by our stupid board. We will get the news we want but not for another 12 months☹

The list of sackings & blokes moving on from other clubs during his tenure must be fukcin' eye watering by now.

Head Coaches as of Round 1, 2013

• Adelaide: Brenton Sanderson
• Brisbane: Michael Voss
• Carlton: Mick Malthouse
• Collingwood: Nathan Buckley
• Essendon: James Hird
• Fremantle: Ross Lyon
• Geelong: Chris Scott
• Gold Coast: Guy McKenna
• GWS: Kevin Sheedy
• Hawthorn: Alistair Clarkson
• Melbourne: Mark Neeld
• North Melbourne: Brad Scott
• Port Adelaide: Ken Hinkley
• Richmond: Damien Hardwick
• St Kilda: Scott Watters
• Sydney: John Longmire
• West Coast: John Worsfold
• Western Bulldogs: Brendan McCartney

It’s genuinely astonishing just as a starting point to look back on before the mountain of happenstance (Dons WADA, Phil Walsh, the Dogs and Dees, Hawks threepeat, the Richmond triple triumph, and on and on) thereafter.

Imagine if someone said to you after this year's Prelim that Horse would go before Donuts.

FFS.

If you don't laugh you will cry. To think we beat Sydney by 112 points late in the season, play them a few weeks later in that Prelim for a 25 goal turn around. Sydney make the GF and Longmire departs and Ken saunters into season 13 at the helm on the back on five final losses out of the last six by an average losing margin by eight goals. We are Port Adelaide!

RE: Talking Points - Longmire resignation

  • Longmire's resignation through burnout underlines the brilliance of our deal with Kenny, who is employed two days a week in-season and has the off-season to refresh.
  • I'm not surprised Longmire has resigned. Losing four grand finals means it's time to go. I believe Kenny would consider similar action if his teams lost four GFs on end, which won't happen.
  • Ken has been proven right again. He's the last man standing and the right man standing. He's excelled when all others have failed. That's why he's still there and only Chris Scott has coached longer. Eventually Scott will quit and our decision to ignore him and appoint Ken will be entirely vindicated.
  • It's survival of the fittest and it is very fitting. I know Ken has already sought a briefing about Gladiator 2 and working in the themes from that film to motivate his team.

He likes to gamble on the dogs. Likes to have a decent sized bet. That doesn't mean he has an addiction problem.

The grub, he’s loaded & still feels a need to gamble. POS of the highest order.

We ignored Chris Scott to hire Matthew Primus. Chris Scott had won a flag at Geelong a whole year before we even went looking at Hinkley.

i just read this campaigner is 1 of 10 children. maybe it's a blessing we have only been infected with 4 hinkleys over the journey, could've been 40
