I used to think it was all about the list. The coaching was a problem, but the list also was weak. I don't believe that anymore. I don't believe that our list is any worse than others. Yes other teams have some strengths we dont, but geez we have a good group.

It was highlighted with Collingwood last year, but again, look at the Swans this year. It's not just an absolute roll call of stars. Their key forwards are Amartey, McLean and McDonald. That's no better than our group. Can our mids compare with Heeney, Warner, Gulden, Mills, well the midfield we have on paper absolutely should be able to. They have an elite small forward, we only have Rioli, and down back they have Blakey where we have Houston. The rest of their backline is far from some sort of dominant force.

I mean no matter how you cut it, it really isn't a list problem. I'd love to have Brogan in ruck, Tredrea up forward and Sam Taylor down back, but no team is ever stacked perfectly. Our squad and group is good enough if they have the right gameplan and the right mindset. However we're a mentally fragile, poorly coached side, with zero ruthlessness, and weak values and questionable desire.
Collingwood won the bloody premiership last year with a team including Frampton, Cox, Ginnivan, Murphy, McCreery, WHE, and Lipinski. Even guys like Markov and Cameron who had pretty good years are still the types of player that would suck in bad teams who couldn't use them well.

"Who else is willing to step up and support the Port Adelaide Football Club and its members? David Koch? Mathew Richardson? Chris Davies? Are we going to present a united front, holding each other accountable to our creed for success? Or are we going to allow those outside of the club to “tear us apart”?"

Wow, that's a brilliant article. Congratulations to those involved in writing it & thank you.

Hawk fans probably hate Hinkley because they hate anything Geelong
Because he played in a GF loss against Hawthorn before losing a bunch of other premierships?

Hinkley was slightly before my time and he didn't exactly have the highlights reel of other Geelong players at the time.

No, it was his smugness of the PF losses that annoyed me.

Can go both ways and Koch is leaving his options open.

We lose to the Saints we'll hear something.

We win 5 in a row we will also hear something.

Knowing our club... either way the announcement from Koch will likely be 'stability is the way forward... we have extended Ken by another 2 years to promote stability'.

So all in all, supporters paid up or not, have been berated by controlled propoganda by PAFC players and media puppets and made to feel second rate and exiled from the club.
Let's just check, what other professional sporting club constantly hangs shit on their loyal fans?
Why is everyone taking such offence. Do we really care what they think. Most of them are highly compromised individuals. In contrast, members are pretty straighforward, they just want the club to be successful & enjoy going to the footy. Discrediting the members is a desperate strategy to justify their stupid decisions & save their egos. Once Ken is gone & another survey is run we'll be recognised again as the most engaged supporter base.

Gotta love the big brain Hinkley sympathisers on reddit

I reckon the smooth brains over at Ken Oath's True Believer would give the Reddit crowd a run for their money.

Jay Schulz posts on Twitter "Disappointing and frustrating wkend yes, but there's still plenty of twists and turns to come this season for lots of clubs in a very even comp. Now's the time to get behind the PAFC boys! Up the pear!"

This tweet is shared on that page with the tag-line "People who have played the game at the highest level should be listened to, well in advance of media cronies & keyboard specialists"

This is met with the normal super positive vibes that those deep as a puddle thinkers are known for... I'm there trying to work out if they're self aware enough to realise that:
1. after spending a year and a half shitting on our only AFL premiership captain, a guy who played the game at the highest level, he should (by their logic) be listened to rather than vilified as a 'self-interested' media crony;
2. it's hypocritical shit on Tredrea but then laud other played the game at the highest level members of the media, Kornes as an example, because he routinely defends Hinkley, clearly showing that they're more interested in hearing what they want to hear rather than actually dealing with objective fact. (I know that this thread particularly is an echo chamber, but people here at least have facts and stats to back up their position rather than just good vibes and 'go support the Tingles'); and
3. they themselves are keyboard specialists, so by their logic nothing they say should hold any weight either.

I have that group hidden but once a month it pops back up on my feed only for me to hide it again. Fortuitous perhaps that this week was the week it popped up again, because reading through the comments you can see that they're going nuts and really struggling with the reality, the walls are closing in and all the positive thinking in the world is unlikely to save their guy.

There was a really good caller after the GWS finals loss last year who stayed strong and made his point really well.

Found it:

That was cathartic to listen to again so many months later. Louis nails it.
that might be the best 2 and half minutes in the entire history of radio

We win this week based on the saints being an average team and an emotional save daddy mentality….. that should be exactly enough to highlight the shortcomings of keeping Ken as coach.

It’s like nobody is actually looking big picture, they just want to be as Timmy G says ‘comfortable’ and mid table, keep out of the spotlight…. Maybe get lucky one day.

When it ends it will be such a relief to move on to something else. Have something to look forward too.

I just cannot compete with the top level posters at this point in time. That is there for all to see. I review what I do and I am aware of what needs to get better. I still have a long way to go to get to that top top level with the best posters in this forum but is not an easy forum to be involved in, I have been around this forum a long time and not everyone can be in the position they want to be.

We all know that and acknowledge it, we see it and everyone is trying to get there. But I don't shy away from that, I have great support around me and I just need to post harder for longer.
Have you tried throwing your team under the bus?
