Sounds like much of this hearing is going to be recapping stuff we all know that has been discussed endlessly for the last 3 years.
As it should.

The Judge's Sentencing comments are exactly that and can be used as the basis of any subsequent appeal

The i's are dotted and the t's crossed and the legal logic to reach the outcome will be impeccable

Croucher accepts Dann's submission that the CC murder finding was not on the basis of a cover up of RH murder as GL was acquitted of the RH murder.

Hoping here that he's simply closing off any appeal points.

Love the title of Sly's article in the Age today, great read too...
Last 2 para's sum up what should happen tomorrow:

Justice requires this justice to add a severe loading for the cover-up, the deliberate, methodical and self-serving destruction of the crime scene. Otherwise, it will be a green light to others.

The court owes Lynn the same level of compassion he showed Carol Clay. The jury found him to be a cold-blooded killer, and he should be treated accordingly.
For being a much vaunted narrator of Victoria's crime culture, he does make a couple of basic errors in his article

"The prosecution argued that the callous nature of Clay’s murder meant that Lynn should be sentenced to life, which is really a maximum of 25 years. Since he has already served three since his arrest, this would mean he would be 79 when released."

A sentence to life imprisonment in Victoria is exactly that ... feet first out the front gate

A Court may set a lesser Non Parole period before which the crim cannot be released from custody

25 years is the "standard sentence" defined in legislation, the sentence before the Court makes deductions from or additions to to determine the Head Sentence imposed.

This is not the Non Parole period which determines Parole Eligibility
