Up again feeding the LO.
Unfortunately(?) going to miss this match due to my sisters wedding.

Will be good to see what Sweet can bring, and how Todd and MG go without Charles.

Hopefully JHF has shaken off the flu and has a full game of impact.

My prediction: Collingwood by 14. A.A to have a great game. Rioli to kick 4. Butters with 30+.

Carn.

Garry Lyon just said “I don’t think they’ll be wearing the prisonbar tomorrow! Nope! It’ll be the black and white stripes versus the TEAL, black and white”

Haha. What a world.

Cheap shot. Just trolling.

This stresses how stupid is the current club’s position on the matter.

We need to curtail De Goey as he gives their midfield that X factor.
I am a tad concerned with their smalls especially their small forward brigade against our more attacking midfield, Elliott, Schulz, Hill, etc.
The Magpies gameplan fits right in with our gameplan.
They could play tight, contested ball which we struggle against. Usually a team will play loose in the first quarter and then tighten up in the second. Maggies usually start tight.

Cant' wait to see Sweet play his first game.
Interested to see if we got through Marshall and Georgy or bomb it.
It will be good to see the up and coming players Bergman, Jones, Burgoyne, Mead, etc play a good, disciplined team even if they have had a shaky year so far.
Our star midfield hasn't been able to get us over the line with the Magpies. Can they step up or has helped arrived?

What I don't want to see is the boys losing the game before the first bounce, if you know what I mean.

I think it will be close.

I hope the coaching staff are actually doing their job this week and getting the players in the right mindset. Not telling them Collingwood at the MCG is scary, and we're lucky to have the chance to play there.

We really should be winning this, but the mental side is crucial. Collingwood are coming off their extra bye, which we don't get, but haven't been in good form all year, so I'm not sure that'll really help them.

Need to start well and don't let them get a look in. Don't be the team that plays them into form.

Our back 6 and our mids win this.

Mitch Georgiades to kick 5

1.8 tackles i50 per game is Elite!? 😱

So the stats tell you exactly what the eye tells you and what the coaches and the Jed Heads have been telling you. Elite defensive forward, doesn't get much of the ball but that's ok (as per Poo Eckert's analysis of his role) and is a pretty good finisher when he does get a chance to kick a goal.

“Pretty good finisher” is a stretch. It could be simply due small sample. But it’s ok.

The key here is whether a specialist is necessary for this role.

Calling Jed a 'pretty good finisher' for having kicked 2.1 is top tier trolling, well done TeeKray. Especially when that behind was a snap from 15 metres out straight in front that I could have kicked.

You missed a big opportunity though, you could have posted in here that he was an elite user of the ball after Round 1 when he had 1 disposal at 100% efficiency.

I mean he's 21.8 career and even his biggest critics would surely have to admit he's got a very tidy set shot routine but you do you Tiger.

He also has decidedly average tackle and pressure act numbers for a small forward over his career, but if you can use a 5 game sample size so can I.

No actually his inside 50 tackle numbers (ie the numbers you'd use to measure a small forward as opposed to a midfielder) are elite for this season but still above average if you switch to career. But thanks for playing.

Without looking it up, do you want to guess how many more tackles per game over his career he has than Willie Rioli, a player who has never had to identify himself as a 'pressure forward' because he also actually gets the ball and kicks goals and goal assists?
