Bit of a circular firing squad, drop senior players which makes us worse so we better drop more which makes us worse and angrier so better drop all the senior players until we are losing every game by 120+, then we can start tearing down the young fellas.
Mission accomplished.
Senior players are shit and not contributing but somehow saving us from 120+ defeats.

Hunt, Duggan and Allen out the door, we’re not losing today by any more.

Out: B.Williams In: Flynn (Williams was beyond awful today - we honestly looked better with Jack Williams in the ruck - at least he looked to hit it in the general direction of a teammate, Flynn has done his penance after Suns game, reward for 2 great weeks in WAFL)

Out: J.Williams In: Brockman (I like Williams but just for team balance)

I'd like to drop so many more but other than Grego nobody else in the WAFL was any good and not sure if we need another young midfielder given Hall, Hutchinson and Gross were in there most of today.

We have a bit to go to surpass North’s five season run. Can we do it? Let’s hope not 😆

North having not played in a Grand Final since 1999. And us in that time making four and winning two.
Always good to keep some perspective.

Yea we do there is a tipping point when you play younger boys
Too many and its 100 point losses

Need a winning ruck division , so play both main ruckman so we're a chance .

In - Flynn , Grego , Kelly ( HF )

Out - J Williams , Davis , Owies
What? No! I'd rather play neither of Flynn and Williams than play both of them.

You just compared us to north. I think in a way that’s the only perspective we need.

Flynn. Subi lost their 194 ruckman early and then Flynn competed against a 190 fill in. Rose coloured glasses I am afraid.

I'm watching the second half again because I legit fell asleep through 3/4 of it. Just want to highlight a play for all the Bailey Williams haters, given he won the hit-outs and apparently is incapable of putting it to a west coast players advantage.

I'm going to share some screen grabs of a pair of ball ups on the wing in the 3rd quarter, both of which Bailey Williams won. In both of them Cripps is in attendance and as you can see in both instances his man stands off him, possibly to bait Williams into tapping to him upon reflection as everyone else in attendance is standing there man.

Note where Cripps is standing in both, right onto of the AFL logo. Ball ups don't both get thrown up in the same place Cripps maybe just likes that spot.

First go Bailey wins the tap and pushes it in the Cripps direction but it goes straight to his man [Docherty] who gets a handball off to right of screen and it gets tied up for another bounce.

Bailey wins but it goes to Docherty and Cripps gets caught up with the umpire coming back so a handball gets out.

Hall somehow intercepts but the 3 Carlton players who are out goal side wrap him up.

Play has moved to the right of screen 10m but oddly Cripps stands in the same place as the last ball up, on his mark on the AFL logo. He is left alone again and this time it's an easier hit for Bailey, maybe because he is now closer and about where Docherty was standing last time relative to where Bailey starts. Cripps is sucking in the big ones having run 5m to lay a tackle in the past 2 minutes. Not on his toes, maybe not even looking when the ball goes up.

Bailey wins the tap
IMG_7658.jpeg

It's a thing of beauty, right down Cripps throat. However Cripps decides he has time to wait for the ball to come to him, maybe not expecting Bailey to win 2 in a row and go to him again despite him being in prime position.

Still not moving. Note Harley trying to get there but being scragged.
IMG_7661.jpeg
Still in the same spot. Fumbles of course, lets it hit the deck I think rather than hitting it on the run.
Oh noes now my opponent has had time to run over here and tackle me, and so has one of his mates.
IMG_7665.jpeg

In my humble opinion Bailey might be no Nic Nat but he does often get first hand on the ball and can put it into the right spot, even down a team mates spot. Said team mate is more often than not either standing in the wrong spot, not reading the tap, caught flat footed, is Harley so being illegally held, or whatever. Ironically we haven't had a player in this side capable of reading a tap since Shuey, now our stoppage coach but seemingly incapable of teaching these guys what to do.

As a ruckman playing an entire game of football Bailey Williams finished with 12 ranking points. The lowest on the ground, other than our sub.

That is absurd. I'm not even sure it was possible. He has to go, he's had 4 weeks now.

Like McQualter said in his presser, just keeping dropping the ruck spuds and changing them out until one of them make it their own. Flynn B2B BOG's means he's put his hand up.

As far as Flynn rucking against nobody's goes, I'm adamant if Williams rucked against the same WAFL players this past fortnight, he most certainly would not have had Flynn's colossal numbers.

Pretty sure it was because he only had one kick and it was a switch backwards to Edwards, putting on -50m gained which he slowly clawed back through handballs and finished with like -15m gained or whatever it was. Low possession game and hitouts aren't worth much points wise compared to kicks or metres gained.

Heard he said to Pyke the story/gameplan he wanted to write was presumptively titled "Simmo's Pets Cemetery" and Don said "no, we're thinking finals actually." Nek minute ded.

You can only compete against who you’re matched up against and he was also dominant around the ground. Not saying he’s much better than Williams … but he is better right now and Williams ruck work and around the ground effort was embarrassing today

In:
Gov - are you all mad? Get him straight back in there.
Greggo - too early for captain?
Flynn - hasn’t faced world beaters but is getting his hand to the pill and finding a bit of the ball.

Out:
Edwards or Brock - whichever they think has the less ideal match up, I’d rather persist with Brock than Harry Hatrack personally.
Jack Williams - Looked unfit to me and he’s surplus with Archer Reid in the team now for a good stint as 3rd tall/back up ruck.
Bailey Williams - Just not good enough at anything in particular to make the side better.

Give Davis a full game, not sure on sub, maybe Greggo unfortunately.

Consider…

Can the team accomodate all of Cripps, Owies and Graham across half forward and if so…should it? That’s an ideal spot for someone to cut their teeth.

Can a ball pig like Zach Merrett realistically get 50 touches in this game?

Dylan Sheil picked up 30 for this mob tonight by the way and that guy hasn’t fired a shot since the Obama Administration. Gulp.
