Mini’s gameplan might be good in theory however you have to have the correct list of players to carry it out which at present we just don’t appear to have. The senior players in particular just don’t seem to be able to adapt - perhaps it’s a case of “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” lol.

Genuinely don't know where the club goes from here.

You know how people say it is never as good as it seems or as bad as it seems? This is the exception. It is exactly as bad as it seems. It's ****ing horrendous.

The senior playing group is rubbish, with a few exceptions a lot of the kids are pretty mediocre, the leaders arent leading and want out, we've wasted our picks on idiotic trades, and the people who made those decisions are still there and will no doubt make similar decisions in future. West coast were appalling two years ago, they are appalling now, and they will almost certainly be just as appalling two years from now. People hoping that the few promising kids we have are going to turn things around are ignoring the fact that every team in the league, including the other 17 who arent losing every game by 10 goals + a week have a few promising kids and a vastly better environment to develop them in. At best those guys will pick up the slack from people like Gov/Cripps/Ryan as they age and retire, we simply do not have the critical mass of quality draft picks to turn this around and the shitshow that is our wafl team is about the worst possible place for kids to be learning their trade.

I feel sorry for mcqualter, he's walked into a footballing black hole and it will probably be the end of his coaching aspirations.

That's true but based off last draft, they're looking to bring those kinds of players in.

I'd expect players who we thought we'd retain being moved on over the next couple of years.

Agree. Surprised by some of the sombre posts in here, we've lost to Carlton by 60+ the last 6 times apparently.

Mini is doing the right thing, slowly shifting out the guys who won't take us forward.

Drafting is a decade long problem - some hope now. What I read - there is only one place in the Beagles with AFL promise. These kids have to grow.
