Their forward line is going to destroy us. This will have to be a shootout if we’re going to win I would think.
Not sure. Think we actually match up better against them than Hawthorne inside D50

You think Johnson is ready? Did he do a full preseason?
He did not do a full pre season but he has played the last two practice matches. Not sure how he went on Friday but he was in the best against the Pies. Personally I think they will stick with Prior. They will want to have a bit more of a look at Johnson. The changes will probably the ones you posted I think.

Yeah, I think we desperately need his apparent good foot skills out of the backline, but you'd think he'll play a few full VFL games first. Prior did look off the boil on Friday, he really should do better.

Watched three quarters of the vfl practice match on Friday.
Saad was quiet, often taking up space on the opposite wing drifting back. When he got it he used it well but it wasn’t a lot.
Edwards took a couple grabs and kicked well. Gets back for one percenters and works hard up.
Johnson was often the main distributor off half back, drew a 50m penalty in the forward half for a goal and took a couple intercepts. Tough kid, will be good in time.
Hayes was doing a lot of switching with our other tall defenders like Akuei and Solomon McKay, played a bit on Gunston who had a few too many tricks for him.
Personally think Edwards comes in for Langford, and Menzie or Setterfield comes in for Ridley with a bit of shuffling like Martin and Redman to HB. The other three mentioned above just need more time in the vfl before coming in, but they’re not far off.

Liked the idea of Redman in the middle but, must go back this week
Would like to see Supercoach take the gamble of trying McKay up forward.

i'm optimistic. think we have some good matchups across the ground.

major worries come in the guts, soligo is a jet and moves faster than we do. michelanny or however you spell it tore the saints apart this arvo, same as hinge. gotta be diligent

Realistically this year or even this week..you'd hope Shiel and Prior are phased out by Clarke, Saad or Johnson, Hobbs has to go, happy to bridge the gap with Setters until an option presents, he's got a better base level.

Clearly missed stringer last night, (I didn't think we would) fwd line going to be an issue all year unless we can get creative with it.

Can't believe they played reid on chol and left mckay free, surely it's the other way around?
Are we winning a flag this year or anytime with Setterfield in team? Hobbs and these young blokes need time and continuity at the level, yes there needs to be a standard but not dropping young blokes after round 1. I’d rather finish bottom 4 and sort out the list than keep playing mid tier senior players and finishing middle of ladder going nowhere year after year.
