Not sure he has the footy IQ (yet) or the running capability to do that role to a high standard. Playing wing is probably one of the least intuitive roles in football.

We have been crying out for a good young midfielder to arrive, well we have got one now with Windhager, he took a big step up last night.

Owens was good in the middle too when he had some stints in there, those two were a real driving force in us getting on top in the 2nd half.

More than a year down the track, and I still have no idea why Carlton delisted Stocker.

I know he doesn’t get heaps of it, and when he does he’s pretty conservative when choosing an option, but he’s strong, clean, cool under pressure and tough as they come.

Carlton delisting him makes absolutely no sense, but boy I’m glad they did.

SOS seemed to be the only one at Carlton that rated him, Stocker was his pick, no surprise that he got him over to us when he was delisted.

He has been a great get for us, hopefully Dow will be as well.

We actually have quite a decent contingent of Saints fans out here

I'm on that line and gave up trying to get home 2 years ago, I now drive into Clifton Hill or closer then train, Getting home last night we had 3 Mernda trains before 1 Hurstbridge line train, then 1/2 of the Hursty trains terminate at Greensborough making us wait even longer to get home.

Voss thought he was soft. Not a Voss type player and wanted to make a statement to his playing group.

Interesting as Saints faithful would have Stock as anything but soft

Windhager not yet 21 and already looks unstoppable when in the middle , imagine how good he will be in a couple years when he is very good already.

On top of that Milera is just a star already and Owens who to me is being thrown around everywhere to fix problems is another who is going to be a super star.

We are spoilt for riches when you see people using guys like Higgins as a whipping boy when he is the only small forward we have had that has averaged over a goal a game every season since Milne.
For sure he does some stupid things at times but he is a danger around goals and he has put in the hard yards because the guys body shape has gone from a Fred Flinstone to a Volanovski.

King is quietly becoming the star forward we know he will be and I expect a breakout game for him this year where he will kick over 10 goals in a game.

On top of all of these young guys we have a 19yr old kid in Phillipou who has no ceiling to how good he will be and to top it off this first yr kid in Wilson is in the same boat.

These guys to me are all game changing players who can change a game in a matter of minutes and in saying that Henry is another and picking him up to me fixes the Hill trade to me - we got torched in that trade but we have been gifted a star in Henry.

I have to add on Battle and Stocker as another 2 young guys who are tough as anyone running around in the AFL and are getting better every year.

Throw in our experienced stars like Marshall , Steele , Wilkie , Sinclair , Membery , Crouch , Hill who knows how far we go this year - if everything clicks watch out.

To early to make predictions but we should see how our team gels in the coming 4 to 5 games and if they do gel we are a threat to everyone.

We all knew we had a problem in the middle and it is to early to say it's fixed but with Windhager showing how much of a force he can be in the middle it's game changing , but we can't get carried away after one game.

broken collar bone. will need surgery. plus a concussion but he's had breaky with the boys this morning so up and about

The knock on him was his tank , he never been soft , was one of the hardest tacklers at Carlton - they never gave him a chance to settle in one position - most probably causing his mental demons.
And if Stocker is anything to go by this Dow trade could be one of the biggest steals of the trade period along with Henry.

Jack Higgins goal of the year to me was in , if you look at where his left foot is and how he is leaning backwards when kicking a part of the ball would of been on the boundary line.
You only need a fraction of the ball to be on the line to still be in play and people watching from the channel 7 camera have got a very deceptive view from it's positioning.
Amazing if this goal was kicked against us it would of got spoken about and forgotten.

Just on BT, do remember in this match he did state how Membrey had kicked his first, awkward 3 seconds later, actually he has two; and he then moved on to another tangent to cover his screw up.

We should not be critiquing a commentary based on an idiot not watching or noting anything down about the game he's at since he's obviously not watching it live. The others in there with him are just as much to blame.
