I don't boo and agree unnecessary, however Buckley's situation was entirely different to JHF.

Buckley tried to challenge the draft system as he didn't want to go to another state, he wanted to play in Victoria and this was well known at the time.

He made a deal with Brisbane that he would play there and then be able to go to the club of his choice the next year.
Similar in the sense that he left the club which drafted him after one year. The specifics are different, I agree.

I'd love JHF to come and play for the real Magpies.
He's a bloody good player.
Imagine a midfield pairing of Nick and JHF!
He’s elite with the ball but his efforts without it leave a lot to be desired. Until he starts doing the work required to have a more complete game he’ll always be overhyped.

A great response.

The intensity and want to tackle was great to watch. Ned Long can be viewed as glass half full or half empty. I can live with the flaws (looks panicked by foot and average kick), if he can bring those monster tackles and stand up in tackles and dish the ball out. I don't mind him being used in the ruck. Prefer that over McStay

The forward line was good but still can be improved. I reckon we need another manic tackling machine. McStay was clunking them nicely by games end

But Port really only have Allir Allir. Our challenge is to do it against a team with two proper key defenders.

Another challenge is to back it up next week. Do what we should have done last season to the dogs and beat them well

“Does McStay get dropped for Cox? He just offers nothing”

Johnno94 - game day thread
I think everyone on this board has said something similar during the heat of the game.

I know I have made a player BOG after been critical of something they did or didn't do.

I doubt that many would have said something as stupid and mind numbing troll like as the example I posted.

The preview thread transitions to the game day thread. It should then transition to the autopsy thread.

By locking the game day thread you allow trolls and abusive posters to say what they want without consequences.

If you post something, people should be able to respond after the game.

After watching the replay, I have reassessed Perryman's game.
He didn't get a lot of possessions, but he did a lot of team first little things that don't show on the stat sheet.
And when he did get the ball, he was good with it, like his exquisite kick to McStay early in the third quarter that led to a goal.
He has high footy IQ, and is a really good ball user.
My impression at the ground was that when he was involved, his influence was good and that his game was very solid.

Should we have no Gameday Thread then?

That’s not what I’m saying TD. Just don’t lock it, let it be and allow posters to respond to dumb arse comments.

I have done it myself but as long as making a Good Point against the Post and not making Fun of the Poster

No problem with emotion. It’s the in house trolls we have who should be called out.

Then Report them to the Mods or Put them on the Ignore List
Nah.
I’d rather call them out. Why should supporters like us have to just report ridiculous posts, only to be dismissed?
Meet fire with fire, just like our magnificent footy side.

I didn't think the comment you quoted was offensive nor mind numbing. Just a heat of the moment comment.

I have made similar comments to family/friends at the game about a play or player only to be proven wrong at the end of the game (sometimes sooner). They just laugh when the player does something good and redeems themselves and give me 'the look'.

Why prolong the - you said...? It is boring and doesn't achieve anything apart from further abusive and personal attacks.

If it is a supporter from another club, just report it.
