AFL made a deal with Fox that it stipulated a 2 hour delay on FTA, so it's not 7s fault.
It is when they advertise all their games as live and free .

My whole family's on it.

They're in their thirties and still living off me.
A great friend of mine who passed away a year or so used to piggy back off my Kayo. I haven't deleted his name on Koyo.
He died a few days after he had to watch his beloved Blues lose, by a point, IIRC.

How massive was Dunkley? What an incredible recruit - he seems to lift when everyone around him is down.

Also great to see Bailey back to some form. I heard somewhere that his ankle injury last year impacted more than we might've thought.

Dunkley- it's not surprising that he invariably steps up when Lachie cops a hard tag. Lach has often stated that it doesn't phase him if he doesn't get big numbers because the oppo can't tag all our mids.

Bailey- unfairly criticised last season. He had a serious ankle issue from early in 2024 but got going i later in the year and I thought, had a very good Finals series.
That effort yesterday shows what he's capable of when fully fit.

I got concussed in my last 4 consecutive games. Got an innocuous hit to the head and was in lala land for about two quarters and then was fine. No headaches or anything afterwards.

Long term effects…well for people who know me, some would say it ****ed me ;)
Your latest tweets indicate it did.

Kai really the only long-term injury out of this game I believe? Starce will obviously miss at least a week, Charlie should be back next week and guys who went off eventually came back on.

There’s a bigger issue with Starch looming

my main issue with Kayo was absolutely no lead in to the game, was forced to hear them gushing over the much loathed (by me) Bailey Smith for at least five minutes after the Geelong game concluded, then watch 2 ads and a blank screen for 2 or 3 minutes. Then straight to the opening bounce, I knew that Charlie was out and the sub from the afl website, but no talk of the prevailing conditions or anything.

Saw I think on Kayo them running a competition in which the first prize was to spend a day with Bailey Smith, assuming 2nd prize was 2 days with him :(

The 2 main things I hated about the coverage was the camera work and the commentary.

The camera seemed have far too many wide angle shots. I felt so far away from the game that I couldn’t tell who had the ball or what was happening in the contest. It felt like the old NEAFL coverage on YouTube.

The commentary was dour they seemed to be mumbling. It was an exciting game between last years grand finalists that was decided by less than a goal and the commentators sounded like they were covering a golf tournament.

Magnificent win btw. 😍

Morris did keep competing which was nice. He is going to get a bit more attention this year with no Joe and teams planning for his strengths so it was good to see him keep making a contest when things were frustrating for him. Playing on after Zorko won the free wasn’t ideal, but all is well that ends well.
If he misses that shot we lose the game. I am sure it will be a learning experience but I like his confidence

100% this.

I’m OK with the a wide angle when someone breaks into space or there’s a set kick and you need to see the options upfield, but when there’s a pack or a marking contest, engage a bit of zoom pls.

The standard of TV coverage for the NRL is light years ahead of what we cop.

I reckon yesterday was the work experience kid on the camera, because we were either zoomed too far out to see wtf was going on or we were zoomed in as far as the camera could go and couldn't see wtf was going on. There was no inbetween.

I have to clear cache on the Kayo app pretty regularly otherwise the streaming performance becomes terrible. Not sure if that’s the cause of your issues but maybe worth a look. Apart from any streaming issues I thought the camera work was pretty terrible

Thanks for the link but i just put the Kayo app on so that should not be an issue
However, cleared data and cache. Will check one of todays games

It's not Kayo, it would be a poor internet/5G connection.
And yet i can watch channel 7 on my Android TV on the channel 73/74 with no broadcast issue.
Or if i switch to the 7 plus app i still have no issue watching live AFL.
Just Kayo
As i mentioned before 52/3 download and 18/19 upload while Kayo running. That should be enough and i am the only one in the unit.

NRL is essentially a TV game

It's two lines of combatants charging at each other for the vast majority of the game. Unless there is a line break, the "action" is confined to about 10 metres each side of the ball carrier/tackler. So much of it is rinse and repeat, meaning that TV coverage is so much simpler than Aussie Rules where the ball travels end to end and is also a 360 degrees game.

The thing that annoyed me most about yesterday's game was the poxy time slot and the whining of Jordan Lewis who seemingly was death riding the Lions from go to whoa. Sounded like he had money on the game.

Does 7 use true HD or do they upscale ?

Does 7 use true HD or do they upscale ?
I will check further if i can find the answer.
But i just googled 'Does channel 7 have true hd or upscale"

And one of the answers referred to both our posts ha ha

EDIT:

High-definition DTV broadcast resolutions

1280 x 720
1920 x 1080
1440 x 1080 = now the common standard for commercial TV Networks HD channels in Australia.
