Essentially due to the change of method we now employ in moving the ball. 1st in scoring from our defensive 50, scoring from turn over and scoring from inside 50, we invite the oppo to enter our defensive 50.

The thing King missed was the move of Balta from forward to back. Completely changed the backline and thus the statistics.

What I’m curious about is our defence against the top 8 sides. I know we’ve only beaten Collingwood, Brisbane and Western Bulldogs, but how many points did we restrict the rest to? The only team in the top 8 I remember actually beating us by a bit was Melbourne, and that was still only 3-4 goals I think.

Geelong beat us by 3 points after they ironed out prestia.

Yep and I’m pretty sure the rest that we lost to or drew with, except Melbourne, we didn’t have Lynch playing did we?

Also our biggest loss of the season was against St Kilda of all people…33 points.

Even Geelong and Melbourne weren’t fully able to contain Lynch, he still kicked goals against them both.

We’re capable of beating any one of the top 8. Home and Away, Melbourne may be the one I’m most worried about however. That’s not to say we will definitely win, just that we’re fully capable.

Which makes sense since I think they have the number 1 or 2 defence on the league? I didn’t watch the Melbourne game, so I’m not sure what happened there, however against Sydney and Geelong, Geelong was a brain fade and Sydney, should have been a draw…though tbf…we decided to go home early that day. Melbourne were far too good for us when we played them. HOWEVER it was Round 6. Melbourne were halfway through an 11 game win streak or whatever it was and were absolutely flying. They are a very different team now. Still bloody good, but not invincible as they were early season. Very similar to us in early 2018.

They over powered us in the middle. We had a run of games early where we lost control and conceded strings of goals straight out of the center bounce.

You pretty much have to dismiss the demons game because it was so long ago, form goes up and down and we are nothing like we were when we played the demons, since then we have gone 11-1-4 and those 4 losses were a 31 pt cough up against the swans, a 40 pt cough up against the suns, a 17 pt last qtr cough up against the cats and less said about the NM game the better and the draw. We seriously could've gone 16-0 since that demons game.

Some people say Richmond are overrated this year, and I get where they’re coming from, however everything that went wrong during those games where we coughed up huge leads can be fixed, and can be fixed almost immediately, hopefully we’ve learnt from those losses and I think we have.

Would love to know what was said at HT of the Brisbane game because since then we have gone 67.44.446 to 33.40.238, that's plus 208 in 14 qtrs.

Compare that to the previous 14 qtrs and it was 36.52.268 to 46.34.310

Not saying it was all smooth sailing or that they didn't drop in form, they looked pretty average a couple of times this year, but come the pointy end of the season and all of a sudden they smash Brisbane by 10 goals.

They did it twice to Brisbane which formed 2 of their last 6 wins. They lost to Sydney, Geelong, Fremantle at the G, Doggies and pies x2 and if we were to play them i wouldn't be fearing them.

I give Sydney every chance of beating them and it's one of those finals series where doggies aside anyone can win the flag, going to be interesting viewing.
