I simply dont understand what it was about the blues performance on saturday that was more brave then any other underdog and ultimately losing team. Can anyone explain?

A losing bet on Carlton might've made them seem more brave and unlucky than they were...

1. Murphy (x2), Simpson, Setanta - All missed easy set shots, if only one of the 4 had been converted we win.

This. Everything went right for West Coast in regards to goals, they were kicking them from everywhere, and the ball was just bouncing beautifully for them.
Kennedy's goal bouncing through was the equivalent of Shaw's smother on Riewoldt in the GF replay - once it happened you just knew it was West Coast's day.

As for the umps, yes West Coast got a dream ride in the second quarter, but we had a good run in the first. Then someone at AFL house obviously put a call through to the umpires and the whistle was put away for the second half.

God it's embarrassing to hear people complain about umpiring decisions. This is why Carlton lost:

1. Murphy (x2), Simpson, Setanta - All missed easy set shots, if only one of the 4 had been converted we win.
2. Marcus Davies - the stupidest act of the season.. grab a player by the jumper and swing him around and onto the floor infront of an umpire - DUMB. If he doesn't do that to Darling, no 'second' goal is scored and we win.

Stupid misses and stupid acts cost us the game and the season, no umpiring decision was relevant in the result.

Any credit or respect earned by our team across the season drops a bit with every whinge from one of the supporters.

I really don't want to sound like an obnoxious twat, but didn't Eagles have more scoring shots?
