I'm expecting the Saints to park the buss across half back and keep their own forward 50 open, this will be a s**tfull game of footy.
They can park a truck across half back as far as I'm concerned. It won't help.

Yeah there is every chance it's a coach sacking soft kill tbh
That was my next comment. Richardson's last game in charge of St.Kilda.

A lot of talk coming out of the Cats apparently (third hand for me) that the club isn't particularly happy with the recent form.
A fair few rockets about intensity and intent seem to be thrown around.
Not expecting many changes outside the obvious (Parfitt and Sav I'd say) but a couple of players have really had the acid put on them, I'd expect a "large" response this week.
The above is what I was told, if true, IF true, I'd tend to agree.

It's gone under the radar a bit but Atkins has plateaued recently. I still think he's been great for us and has a big part to play for us come finals, but I feel like a week or two back at the lower level could be good for him to get his confidence back up.
Atkins has been fantastic but Scooter can do the same role quite comfortably.

Read my post again. I'll copy and paste the sentence to make it easier for you:
Some play VFL after injuries (and struggle to get back into the seniors) but he's not one to drop players to make a statement (so far at least).

Copy and pasting helped but unfortunately I'm still too stupid to understand it. :(

Maybe try enlarging the font size or using words with fewer syllables?

How does intensity help players to hit teammates with handballs?... so all the issues are about effort and no issue at all with the track sprint approach of bringing the ball out of the backline. None at all with our midfield being done over ?

A large response this week will almost mean zero ..playing at KP against the Saints .. Playing GC or Carlton would be the only teams that present as possibly easier games.

Do we expect the pressure game to pick up the slack for not getting enough contested ball at CB's when we play the better teams ? Beating the saints at KP.. is not such a game that will test us.

Hawks this week would have been better.

Don't know, wasn't there, but intensity doesn't just mean tackling or pressure, intensity in EVERYTHING.
Running to space, creating options, disposal, even training and preparation.

There's some sensitivity with that subject, but tbh, the other thread is the best place to discuss it anyway.
No sensitivity. Those that want him dropped have said so and that’s that for this thread. But the endless pages of detailing his flaws (real, perceived and mythical) belong in the Echo Chamber. That allows others (including me) with no interest in it to avoid it altogether.

Some people can't handle truth

Lost that hard edge all over the ground that was there before the bye.

First, fix the structures once and for all by keeping Blicavs at FB so he can continue to work on his craft and play either 2 ruckman and 2 KPF or a forward/Ruck to assist Stanley every game.

Put this 1-way running midfield on notice; time for guys like Mitch Duncan, who I highly rate, to lift their pressure and intensity.

Move the ball quicker FFS! How many times did we turn it over at HB, only to continually slow play it at an excruciating pace while the dogs setup their defence.

This should be a ruthless performance that all but ends Richardson's coaching, anything less would be a massive disappointment.

Fair enough......but I did think the question was reasonable, and relevant to the discussion here though. But no problem.

I will admit that I'm not as enamoured with Guthrie as you, but I find it interesting to entertain differing views because it causes me to continually re-evaluate my own opinion and perceptions which, I think, is healthy. Sure, you have to trawl through a lot of dross, but I often find it worth the effort.

Some topics become so toxic they become not worth the bother. This is one (as far as I’m concerned).
