No pressure from midfield. No pressure from forwards.
You could together the best defence in the history of the game and they would get overrun
I can see a bit of collingwood style in carlton today.. when opposition try to tackle, the ball would have reached another carlton player, and the chain goes on until it reaches forward 50... except us everyone tries to play this type of footy.

True. But I don't really remember our midfield ever actually dominating another team.

Any one of those three will add a damn sight more to our effort levels and commitment levels than continuing to select JOM, Hughes, Aish or Schultz will.
Stanley is a wing FFS, and both Colyer and Wilson can play midfield minutes, or play other spots and free up the likes of Young, Walters or Worner to play more midfield. This rot that we have to somehow keep selecting JOM and Aish because "we have no other midfielders" is just that, rot. And it rewards and reinforces entitlement to selection despite lack of effort and lack of production - and creating entitlement at selection is a list destroying culture.
