Game Day R9 v Richmond

Let’s get our bloody mojo back and kick some snags.

Curtin and Filthy’s contested marking to flex on the young Tigers and Rachele & Rankine to kick five each.

It’s a beautiful day for some downhill skiing. I remember many years ago the ski season was extended at least a couple of weeks. We went to Hotham and had about a foot of fresh powder overnight and were skiing in cotton long sleeve tops and bright sunshine. It was joyous. I expect this afternoon to be similar.

Although, instead of letting the guys loose and piling on the goals, we could use the opportunity to prove that our ‘precision’ kicking game from defence definitely can work. Just like it does against the might of the possibles, it can to against a seasoned and in form 23 like the Tigers.

And I wouldn’t back Rankine for 5 goals, reckon there was a snippet from him about being ready for full time midfield. I’ll be backing him around 25 and 2 and 3 with Rachele kicking a bag.

I swear to god, if that bald twat tries to protect a lead today...

He would rather lose by two goals than win by 20 goals. Just look at how he reacted after the Bombers game last year, free flowing attack was canned after that game because we gave up 15 goals, even though we won by 8 goals

Fancy we will see an old fashioned paddling today

Will be a 10 goal win

For the punters the line is -38.5 should be covering that

I think Dawson plays forward today at points he will kick a couple

Everyone's talking 60+ but I don't think our mindset and game style will allow that. Last year, yes - we flogged crap teams even away from home - but we're nowhere near that in terms of attacking confidence and execution.

Obviously confident of a win, just not a huge percentage booster.

Nothing less than a 10 goal win is acceptable
Nicks won't let that happen. He was dragged hard in the media and questioned in our big wins when we allowed a high score.

He seems sensitive to media narrative he'd rather win by 5 goals in a tempo game only conceeding 70 points than win by 119 points but conceeding 100.

Mortgage your house and slap it all on the Crows at the line = 38.5 points.????????
Sure why not.
You don’t think we are a 10 goal better side than them, with them also coming back from Perth?

Games have all been fairly close this weekend bar the Cats game last night...

No idea what to expect, we haven't looked clinical/ruthless all year.... Dawson a very welcome addition.

This is the type of game that TT, Rankine, Rachelle all need to fill their boots and dominate.

Weather very overcast and dreary here in Melb but looks like will clear a little later, dont expect rain.

Expecting a scrappy, frustrating 26 point win...

Not sure. I think Nicks is smart enough to know that there’s % boosts in smoking crap teams, and where we’re tracking it’s going to be important. Even when it doesn’t matter, we go full throttle and play our best team, ignoring rest opportunity, petrified that it might matter. We close down against good sides and in the 3-4 game lead in to September. Neither applicable today, handbrake might be off.

Sure why not.

There only games where they’ve not been beaten by around or more than 10 goals was Blues round 1 4pts, Port at G 42pts and 11 point away win v Eagles. If we’re a 4-8 type side and with decent conditions, we should be winning by 10 goals today. Jack loves thinking that predicting different to the Sportsbet line somehow means your judgement is flawed. It’s always been a fairly strange attempt at a flex.

I'm looking forward to see how Edwards and Draper perform in the midfield.

It's a great opportunity for them both.
Linking up with Dowling. Future is on display.
