Yep still liked it alot but he made Keays look smooth by foot which he was in the main other than his once a week hit of the point post
I actually thought keays was average today.

LOL

47 hitouts to 32

8 clearances to 3
We just going to forget about the rest of his game?
Must have absolutely been slaughtered by Strachan.
Given Strachan was rated 30% higher for the game.

Hilarious to read folks here wanting to shit on the win because St Kilda had 7 players out.

Seven?

It was Phillippou and Max King. Michito Owens is okay but went backwards last year. Then who? Dan Butler? Liam Henry? None of the players they had out matter.

They were underdone. But that's also just what their side is. All you can do is beat who's in front of you, and we did that well.

PHELAN’S BEST
CROWS: Rankine, Soligo, Dawson, Laird, Crouch, Thilthorpe, Fogarty, Rachele.he stat sheet

Lol wut. Best you can say about Laird is he wasn't noticeable. Wouldn't even have him in the best 10
Yeah. Just proof that he just uses the stat sheet to form his opinions: very lazy and shallow.
The eye test says it all: Laird was pretty invisible on TV. Question: was he the laggard trailing NWM when he ran forward from defence to goal?

Having said that, I don't think it was a bad game from Laird. The fact that we didn't notice him means not too many mistakes. I also think that we don't need too many metres gained from a back pocket when we have rebounders Hinge, Worrell, and Michelanney in the side.

Good, we definitely made far more positional changes than we’ve done before between midfield and forward.
& most of them kicked goals too!

We have only been calling for this for about the last time years.

We have a really deep midfield.

We conceded 52 inside 50s to our 59. Despite being solidly on top, we continue to allow relatively easy transition.
Our forward entries were far far cleaner though.

Had him about our 7th or 8th best

I just don't see it, pads stats with sideways uncontested marks and handball receives and does nothing to put the oppo under pressure despite being an outside receiver. I wouldn't have him hear the top 10 because his 'role' just isn't that important, he just knows where to go to get east ball and then does nothing with it.

Didn’t like his game ?

I think Keane has the ability to hit the difficult ones, hes just a bit laconic at times.

Murray doesn't quite have the same ability
Keane's disposal has become much more tentative, perhaps due to his notable blunders.

There is one improvement we can make easily. It beggars belief that, despite the obvious umpire instructions this year,
Laird, in particular, encourages Keane to kick out to him over 10 m! Laird has to be instructed to offer himself up only at distances > 20 m.

What I like about Keane's kicking is he finds angles that open the game up.
Like you say, doesn't always pay off but worth the risk
Yep and that’s what some people miss

See the errors but also need to acknowledge how he can open up a game

Can be a bit of a weapon at times and is what people have been calling for from our kick ins for years rather than the obvious long to the right
