Are you sure she is well remunerated?

I think the remuneration is the reason our game has someone of that.... umm.... 'calibre'...
Her resume is rather impressive including tertiary education.
I’m sure the AFL feel certain obligations toward her.
If you look at the job she’s done in raw numbers it’s hard to deny the performance especially when the AFLs number 1 metric is growth.

Did I read somewhere the game only grew from 526,000 nationally to 528,000 in season 2024?

Hardly the massive growth if true? Maybe she should have went to dealing with community clubs school to further her education. Definitely the most disliked leader of QLD Footy I can remember in my time over last 43 years or so.

Media release said 16% so take that as you will. Understand your feeling towards headquarters so I take that with a grain of salt. I have had no dealing with a Trisha personally as a club representative, just know who she is via media and what’s happened on the past.

I asked an honest question about an award. So just checking if the answer that you’re providing is that:
(1) having tertiary education is impressive, (2) the game of AFL itself has grown by this 16% figure provided (and that is directly contributed to the award recipient), and finally;
(3) If you’re not drinking the HO coolaid then your opinion is null and void.

Did I read that right?

Just providing some context to the snide remarks.
So I need to knuckle drag and bag the crap out of head qtrs to have an opinion? Guess Im in the wrong place then. Merely stated my own experiences with head qtrs. I’ll leave you lot to it then. Bag away

You can have your opinion. No probs. I just wanted to understand the criteria of the award and how the winner rose above and beyond so I could celebrate with you.

Plenty of people have a degree but it doesn't make them smart or understand the job.
Have seen some impressive resumes at interviews but ended up being absolutely useless.
Statistics are unreliable especially if the person presenting them has a vested interest.
A club won an award with quoting a 33% increase in senior footy.
However that year they lost a whole team but gained another.
So you must understand that 78.76% of statistics are made up on the spot.

The growth is mainly attributed to Girls and women’s programs. I would love to see what growth occurred without those numbers.

With Australia’s population growth there would be natural organic growth in most sports one would think.

So let’s give her a tick for growth. Now let’s zero in on other areas.

  • Has staffing improved to control club issues or clubs left to their own devices even more than ever.
  • our major competition coverage is poor to say least in regards media/social media compared to other major leagues across Australia.
  • no coaching interviews
  • no real previews of games
  • no match reports/results
  • rising star award has no relevance or exposure
  • state/representative footy is not consistent
  • presidents meetings at community level non existent

I could probably keep going for half an hour but don’t want to bore everyone on what most people in this forum know.

If it wasn’t for the way our major clubs are set up and run most of our competitions would be a shambles if it was left for any reliance on league headquarters and our fearless leader.
