Saw the full video on TikTok.

The Priest very lucky the first couple of attempts didn't connect cleanly.

Seems it might have been a spur of the moment attack.

Shocking.

In my view if you take a knife to a religious ceremony, that’s premeditated.

Or was it obtained at the church?

One of the injured officers had his jaw broken with a brick and piece of fence paling. A broken jaw is an horrific injury that can have lifelong consequences. Ambulance workers had to to hide and be rescued by police. Houses were broken into so the mob could arm themselves.

This vigilante crowd is no better than the individual who allegedly stabbed the bishop and others, and they should ALL feel the full force of the law.

Who the f**k do ANY of these people think they are behaving like that?

I hate how quickly riot mobs turn to vandalism and looting. There's no justification, just makes you look like lowlife clowns regardless of your cause.

Quite clear with this that is was a religious motivated attack

The mob is trash. Now onto the stabbing.
I've just seen a video (may be deepfake, but looks real, no signs it's been dubbed etc) of the bishop saying he had been receiving threats that he was going to be killed

Here are a couple of articles with some more comprehensive information on what transpired, particularly to do with his hand.

Apparently the crowd also descended on the hospital afterward. They all sound like unhinged a**holes to me. Imagine thinking that targeting a hospital and preventing completely unrelated people from getting treatment is a justifiable action?

Honestly it sounds to me as though there are major, major violence issues amongst this whole community (by that I mean the community who were involved in all this last night). WTF is going on with them?!

Also, while I do not agree with the vigilantism against the alleged offender, I also don't think we need to hear about him being "distraught".

In one of the articles I linked, police seem to think it was a flick knife. Not only is that not something you'd find in a Church, but I believe they are restricted and you'd have to go to some trouble to get one.

Probably need a spoiler warning on the video, it shows the livestream of the Priest being stabbed.

It's very confronting but the weapon is small and the attacker pauses for a moment to look down at it, I suspect due to wondering why it wasn't doing as much damage as he thought it would, it wasn't piercing skin, at least initially.

There might be something in the suggestion that, while of course the Bishop could still have been very hurt, the attacker forgot to open the blade. There's no blood through the attack that I can see.

Moreso that it's not immediately clear that it's a video or that it shows the attack, whether or not there's blood.

If he was using a fairly small blade as has been mentioned, the priests clothing would have provided a fair bit of protection, as presumably he's wearing street clothes beneath the religious garb.
