Would love to see public opinion improve towards Jack as a result of his new role at CHF.

Hopefully it'll be like Richo in his later years, but sooner.

Really annoys me to see the constant attitude towards him, which then gets overplayed by commentators and the media, which then fuels the perception even more.

A new role is a chance to break preconceptions. He'll also be less prone to getting frustrated since he'll have a wider range of measures for being a good player other than just goals (and a missed goal opportunity can be the most frustrating thing as a player)

Has already happened. Jack moves where-ever required to isolate him in a one-on-one.
Modern day forward line is dynamic enough to adjust to match ups, with forwards going down as far as hb line (and not only because of being dragged there by their opponents)

I don't mind him being our CHF but it was only a couple years ago that as a FF he dominated and won the Coleman. We need that Jack back.

As Leigh Matthews says, FFs win Colemans, CHFs win premierships.

The issue is more that we've got other players who can play FF to an acceptable level, but none who can really play CHF. Jack may be less effective at CHF, but say (and I realise goals don't tell the whole story, but this just makes it easier to think about.), he would kick 70 goals at FF or 50 at CHF. But then we've got other players who could kick a good 40 goals at FF but can't really play CHF to any great extent. So even though Jack is contributing less goals, he's opening room up for more goals for the team.

yep, which is kinda of an extension on whats been happening in the last couple of years anyway. good for the 'team 1st' ethos the team now has.

Not these days...
Could very well be right.
70's-Hart
80's-Dermie
90's-Carey
00's-Jonathon
10's-No real standout yet.Not sure if you can classify Cameron as a true CHF and if the side will dominate as much as the above sides did in their era on the back of a great CHF.Too early to call atm.

Brown came good after the Lions' reign, was a role player during the flags. Lynch was the far superior player and even Bradshaw at that time.

This off season has really Dragged on ................................... Hurry TFU 2014 AFL Season

Really gotten into fantasy basketball so that's really occupying my time in the off season. maybe a bit too much as i've got mock exams in a week.

Jack looks fantastic, real credit to him to slim down but retain the strength around his waist and back.

How is the recruit Ben Lennon settling in? Is he likely to be like Vlastuin was and command attention and games early or is better for him to find his feet at Coburg from what we've seen?

Like a few others on here, while the off season has dragged on I've been watching multiple NBA games and keeping up on my fantasy bball.

Only 6 weeks to the NAB cup however :thumbsu:

Give it 2 years

Just about to post the same pic of McBean. Side by side with Jack and TV, he's not really that skinny. I reckon we might see him debut earlier than some think. Round 1 smoky

McBean has still got a while to develop, I reckon he will get taller and will eventually have a bigger frame. He'll play a few games in the VFL before his debut, can't see him playing an AFL straight away.

He's still quite skinny I'm the arms but IMO he's already got a pretty solid frame, especially in the, ahem, hindquarters. Good weight distribution for a big guy

He is already 202cm Tall - I wish he grows another inch will be 205cm and with his mobility just about impossible for backman to matchup on
