To a degree. Cats lost 3 of their first 7 and 4 of their first 9 games last year including one to the hawks and one to the saints. They only got better and better after that and didn't lose again. Dees were unbackable favorites for the flag last year after starting 10-0, then they lost 3 straight and never got back to the same form and went out in straight sets.

Our best start during the dynasty was 2018 and we know how that ended. Obviously you'd rather be winning games early on but timing your run into finals is as important as ever IMO.

it is important to be ahead of the ledger early.

In learning from 2018, we would then take the opportunity to rest players against a schedule knowing we have wriggle room on the ladder, than be like last 2 years, with no room for error as such.

A smarter, stronger start than usual should set us up.

Ah all good, I thought you were being facetious. Cats played it perfectly last year. Started a little slowly, made a few tweaks and came home like a freight train which allowed them to rest some sore bodies at the back end.

As we've seen with Melbourne and the Cats in the past 2yrs you dont have to build into your season by losing three out of the first five games to win a Premiership. Can we please hit the ground running in 2023 and not play catchup from rounds 6 to 13. A good start will be beating the Dee's in that preseason game. I dont want them getting any sort of deja vu from 2021 when they beat us peseason.

What it costs us is a HOME final , no ****ing around tigers , just get the job done

they got lucky and they got gifts, they got umpire gifts, they got AFL rule change gifts they got home gound advantage gifts and also they got tribunal, MRO and Hocking/Brad Scott/Gill leaking classified information gifts. We probably lose 3 games for the year if we got looked after like they did.

That is the perfect Aussie male physique IMO, Adonis-like, simply irresistible.

Yep. Liked the look of Millers lead on Tarrant too. Would be a huge asset if he can become a legit forward target/2nd ruck.
