How long before RW'ers stay in denial about their decision or support?

Regardless of that happens, you'd think 90% will for at least a year. Probably 80% for two years. By the third year, 30% will have dropped off and maybe even half by the fourth term, but most of them, or at least two thirds will say Trump and Elon were good till the next election.

As I posted elsewhere the other day, just look at those studies into millennial cults, about how the members psychologically adapt when the calendar date set by their charismatic leader for Jesus’s return comes and goes without an appearance from the ol’ JC.

Most of them do not leave the cult.

This phenomenon is what coined the term cognitive dissonance.

Check this out. They are reorienting their cult already

President-elect Donald J. Trump endorsed Mike Johnson for another term as House speaker on Monday, roughly two weeks after Mr. Trump helped put Mr. Johnson’s chances in jeopardy by sinking a bipartisan spending bill that the speaker had negotiated to avert a government shutdown.
The announcement from Mr. Trump on his website, Truth Social, ended days of private discussions by the president-elect and his allies about whether to try to save Mr. Johnson or find another option, as some conservatives have been agitating for.

They want to ensure they have a speaker in situ to certify the election. Once Trump is POTUS Johnson is meat.

Maybe. It’s a tough job - far too many masters to serve, many with different agendas - and maybe there’s no-one else daft enough to put their hand up for the job.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the “must get the debt down” group in the House holds firm in the face of inevitable pressure (bullying) from the cabinet (and satellite cabinet) billionaires. If they refuse to raise the debt ceiling, along with the Democrats), what happens to the billionaire tax cuts? I think Musk and his DOGE buddies will struggle to make quick wins of the magnitude required.

Mike Johnson is right up there with Matt Gaetz as a bizarre administration pick. These are terrible people, Trump is draining the swamp by putting them in his administration: Gabbard, Noem, RFK, Stefanik, OZ, Rubio, Hershal Walker, Patel, Loeffler, Bondi, and Hegseth to name a few.

President-elect Donald Trump’s team is ordering cabinet nominees to cease all social media posts ahead of their confirmation hearings, according to reports.

The New York Post first reported this directive, noting that Susie Wiles, Trump’s former campaign manager and incoming chief of staff, sent out the order on Sunday. In the memo, she also noted that none of the nominees speak for Trump.

I’m not sure about the comparison - as partisan as he is, at least he knows and understands the politics and how it works. He got the debt ceiling done despite the complaints and he got re endorsed.

Frankly all the house republicans and those in the senate know Donald is a lame duck the minute he takes office. There is a war starting for post Donald control ready for the mid terms and it ain’t up to old Donald no more.

He's an Election Denier MAGA, not a Burn Down the World one. I think he also realizes if the government shuts down it will be him that gets it in the face. He needs some respect from the Dems and few normy Reps still in the House. I am sure he would refuse to certify an election in favor of the Rs given the chance.
