a) So preventing companies from polluting the environment to the extent it causes statistically significantly higher rates of serious illness is a "liberal ideological priority"?

b) And by labeling this decision as driven by DEI initiatives they seem to have said the quiet part out loud. Would they have made the same decision to drop the case if the area affected had been majority-white? Or is it that Black lives really don't matter at all?

This is the same country where juries have been known to hand out $50m in damages to people who have been scalded y a cup of tea spilling in their laps.
The point being a majority-white area would never have had a place like that near them. Well maybe Appalachia. They also don't frak, burn waste, or dump sewage near nice white neighborhoods.

Fox News host Jesse Watters told viewers on Thursday night that spending cuts enacted by President Donald Trump have hit his sister’s place of employment.

Johns Hopkins University is slashing more than 2,000 jobs after the White House eliminated $800 million in federal grants to the famous medical research institution as part of the gutting of the U.S. Agency for International Development at the hands of Trump and White House adviser Elon Musk.

Last week he complained a veteran friend of him got the sack

Devo for Jesse

Ah yes the conservative mindset - it’s not a problem until it affects me directly.

You call me a centrist. What is a centrist? Given I was a union organizer and the only time I voted liberal was Rudd's second election. That I regard the Democrats as a conservative party using divide and rule tactics to trick the working class to vote from them. But its always the way with extremists on either side, the Tankies hated the moderate left more than the right. Had enough arguments at union meetings to know the type.

Sympathize and mollycoddle are not the same thing. I can totally disagree with a persons beliefs, and still feel empathy when bad things happen to them. Even bad things they helped enable.

As for a savior complex, when have I suggested they can be saved? My opinion is fools gotta fool, they simply are what they are and cannot be saved. Once I believed if the universe hit them hard enough, the light blub would turn on, but no, it does not.

Of course they were mislead. Being lied to means they were mislead. If he had told them the truth, would this have changed their votes? Some of them, sure, most, most likely not.

You clearly show yourself to be a left wing self righteous bigot. A creature that is as bigoted and dangerous as right wing bigots. What is your solution to this problem comrade, reeducation camps, gulags, maybe good old concentration camps. Or just fix elections so they cannot do so much damage.

What you are doing and are unwilling to accept is that you are dehumanizing people because you disagree with them. In the just the same way they are. Guess what both are wrong.

It’s not about demonising people it’s getting people to realise it’s a class war they’re fighting and not a culture one, it’s a fight against oligarchy.

Btw the corporate dems have fully enabled the lurch to fascism/authoritarianism.

I’ve got no issue with calling much of MAGA bigots and racists though. I don’t see why they should be mollycoddled.

Correct, but for one important, nay vital difference. Not all 76M odd who voted for Trump are red hat cultists who will never abandon their orange god. Some of them may be persuaded to not vote for him and his lot in the future. Changing their votes to the democrats is most likely asking too much. But just as the democrat voter's who refused to vote at all due to the middle east helped Trump win. Republican voter's who refuse to vote at all help defeat him. Calling them deplorables does not work, it failed, it simply leads to fascist victory.

No that’s not the issue, they demonise the left or anyone who isn’t them.

What leads to fascist victory is wishy washy BS the Dems put up as policies.

White house in damage control

Shortly after, the White House issued a statement that strained credulity, to say the least.

“President Trump was obviously referring to the original Alien Enemies Act that was signed back in 1798,” it read. “The recent executive order was personally signed by President Trump, invoking the Alien Enemies Act that designated Tren de Aragua as a foreign terrorist organization in order to apprehend and deport these heinous criminals.”

Yeah naah

If, as he claims (falsely) that he didn’t sign such an EO, does that not mean there was NO basis for deporting the so-called gang members to El Salvador (rather than just a legally dodgy basis)?

He even sent El Salvador around 9 million to put these people in prison.

She experienced major full thickness burns over a significant portion of her body, had to have repeated surgeries to perform skin grafting, and was unable to work for years.

America is the bad place, but McDonalds handed a coffee significantly hotter than allowed, and hot enough to cause third degree burns, and hotter than could be held in the hand, to a person sitting down, with the coffee over them, who had their life destroyed as a consequence.

America is the bad place, but this case, and the damages awarded, are not part of that.

Going after more law firms

President Trump broadened his campaign of retaliation against lawyers he dislikes with a new memorandum that threatens to use government power to punish any law firms that, in his view, unfairly challenge his administration.

The memorandum directs the heads of the Justice and Homeland Security Departments to “seek sanctions against attorneys and law firms who engage in frivolous, unreasonable and vexatious litigation against the United States” or in matters that come before federal agencies.

The US wants to put tariffs on Canada that imports double the amount of US goods than it does from China, Japan, France and the UK.
If Canada were to put tariffs on all US imported goods it would send unemployment soaring in the US, but donny and his administration are to dumb to see it

I guess now we know what triggered his late night rant about auto-pens.

Every accusation is a confession.
