AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I see we nominated Andrew and Menth. I suppose we’ll rookie both?We won't be picking up Noah Yze as we didn't nominate him for father son.
Good choice from our end.
I would assume that would be the plan given our senior list doesn't have many spots to fill.I see we nominated Andrew and Menth. I suppose we’ll rookie both?
I don’t believe you can do that. He’d be in the open draft.I would assume that would be the plan given our senior list doesn't have many spots to fill.
Yze not being nominated isn't too much of a surprise. Do we still have the option of nominating him as a father son in the future if he does come on in the next few seasons?
If we rate a player(s) as best for our pick 9 but believe we can get them at a later pick then why wouldn't you trade back? There are players in the draft that 1 team has as top 10 but another club wouldn't even take top 20.Why the hell would we trade a fortune to get pick 9 only to trade it out for worse picks again
Yes i believe so.I see we nominated Andrew and Menth. I suppose we’ll rookie both?
I'd we traded back from 9 and then player we wanted was taking just before us that would be one of the all time stupid decisions. Just take the guy we wantIf we rate a player(s) as best for our pick 9 but believe we can get them at a later pick then why wouldn't you trade back? We traded out a fortune to get into the round as we knew it was worth being in there but also a long way from draft night. Gives a lot of flexibility to then move back or split etc.
Sorry, I meant to include if they were undrafted this year. I assume the answer is the same either way.I don’t believe you can do that. He’d be in the open draft.
Yeah we’ll forgo any f/s rights at all now.Sorry, I meant to include if they were undrafted this year. I assume the answer is the same either way.

Besides the only club with anything to offer is WC with 12 and 26 and theyd be silly to make that trade.
There is just one guy we want. There will be a group broken into tiers and some of them would be like splitting hairs which one to take.I'd we traded back from 9 and then player we wanted was taking just before us that would be one of the all time stupid decisions. Just take the guy we want

See you don't make any sense, moving up to get a player vs moving down isn't the same thing at all. There is just one guy we want. There will be a group broken into tiers and some of them would be like splitting hairs which one to take.
WC are definately not the only one with anything to offer but if they have someone in their group available at 9 that is a cut above their other options but won't be at 12 then it wouldnt be silly at all.
If we could go back to the draft where Geelong jumped up the board to grab Max Holmes before us and leave us with Laurie instead - what would you have traded to move up that one spot instead?
If a stand out player is there at 9 we didn't think likely then I agree to take him but if he is off the board then you have to consider the offers coming in.
So you would trade 5 & 9 for pick 1 or 2 to make sure you got what you think is the best player in the draft?See you don't make any sense, moving up to get a player vs moving down isn't the same thing at all.
I'm not really following along with you here that's a completely different scenario to trading down from 9 to 12 and 26So you would trade 5 & 9 for pick 1 or 2 to make sure you got what you think is the best player in the draft?
Or keep 5 & 9?
i lost itId like to see Noah Rookie’d, he is a good size and has shown that he is a talented youngster, being an Yze I see it as repaying Adem in some small way for his great services to the Dees. We have more spots this year and can accommodate him and who knows he could be a ripper and it may help sway others in the years to come. I.e Dees respect the tradition of F/S’s.
Mate this forum is nearly as bad, mostly filled with GWS supporters who celebrate the Dees losing and ready to abuse anyone who's close to showing some positivity lol. The veil of negativity is real strong on this board.Everyone one this forum whines about Demonland yet you all still trawl through it like a jilted lover stalking an ex's social media pages.
Paul Roos was right. Let’s face it some people prefer to have no expectations. That way they can’t be let down.Mate this forum is nearly as bad, mostly filled with GWS supporters who celebrate the Dees losing and ready to abuse anyone who's close to showing some positivity lol. That way they can be correct about Melbourne and be objective rather than thinking Melbourne is the best while we don't win a final for years. Being a fan doesn't mean you have to be a dumb campaignerPaul Roos was right. Let’s face it some people prefer to have no expectations. That way they can’t be let down.
Hmm. If some on here had no expectations then explain the constant b*ing and moaning that takes place and the desire to go support another club while still b*ing and moaning about the Dees. I understand the need to go support another code if your team isn't going well, but to genuinely support another AFL club lol.Paul Roos was right. I kind of feel it’s all wrapped up in the way you want to perceive the team. If you have low expectations and thoughts on the quality of the team you can have less stress about games etc. but can also get stuck into them as you think they dare bad and making the wrong calls. I reckon it was hard for a lot of dees fans to jump on board the expectation of winning through 21-23. Then when you fail it’s all I told you so etc. But if you succeed you can still enjoy it. And it is totally fine to have expectations of winning and also concern at some aspects of the club. Again some don’t seem to believe that.Hmm. I like to think I was relatively positive 2014-2022 but honestly what the **** has there been to be happy about last 3 years? That way they can be correct about Melbourne and be objective rather than thinking Melbourne is the best while we don't win a final for years. Of all the things the club does and there's been a shitload wrong, playing a ****ing disgusting game style that's putrid to watch is by far the worst of it. I could give a **** if Clarry was fat if we played a fun style but him being out of shape and just getting it and torping it forward and being applauded for it encapsulates the last 3 years perfectlyI like to think I was relatively positive 2014-2022 but honestly what the **** has there been to be happy about last 3 years?
Club was in a great position end of 2021 to create a period of sustained success and maybe evolve into something more than the piss ant club we've been for 60 years but through a combination of arrogance, complacency and hubris the leaders of the club completely pissed it up the wall.
On top of that we play the worst game style in the competition.
How Happy Clappers can be critical of fans for being disenchanted with the club is cooked.
At least the clean out has started and Green deserves some credit for what he's done so far but there won't be any meaningful change on field until Goodwin & Richo are gone.
for me it's the willingness to die the slow death, club just waiting for us to bottom out before taking action on Goodwin. A decent club like Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong etc would have told him to overhaul the game plan at the end of 22' and he certainly wouldn't have been re-signed in 23' when he failed to do so. Good clubs don't celebrate decent H&A seasons.Of all the things the club does and there's been a shitload wrong, playing a *ing disgusting game style that's putrid to watch is by far the worst of it.
