I think the Laurie comp is pretty silly from people, Reid is a far better prospect than Laurie ever was. One is being talked about going in the top 10, the other was talked about as a second round pick. Im sure if you compared their stats it wouldnt be close either.I'm so torn on him. No idea if he could become a Lachie Neale/Sam Mitchell type as a ceiling, or a Bailey Laurie not quite right-er at AFL level.

I think he's going to make some teams look silly if he falls to the teens. Same with Hotton. Both look to be naturally gifted footballers to me. Would be more than happy to pick either up at pick 9.I'm so torn on him. No idea if he could become a Lachie Neale/Sam Mitchell type as a ceiling, or a Bailey Laurie not quite right-er at AFL level.

Yeah, heaps different.I think the Laurie comp is pretty silly from people, Reid is a far better prospect than Laurie ever was. One is being talked about going in the top 10, the other was talked about as a second round pick. Im sure if you compared their stats it wouldnt be close either.
Be prepared for every mock draft to have us taking Armstrong as we nEeD a KeY fOrWaRd though.
I'd be happy with Langford. I think he's a long way from Brock McLean... And i also think we desperately need that Hayden Young type off the back flank. Salo not getting any younger and with Riv likely moving into a F/T midfield role, we need more runners with good foot skills. What I want:
Smith/Tauru at 5 for me
Reid/Hotton at 9
What I think/fear will happen:
Langford/Smillie at 5 (Big bodied mid)
Lindsay/Travaglia at 9 (HBF to fill void left by Brayshaw in line with our desperate Houston play.
I’m definitely not a hater. I love his quick and sure hands. So many Reid haters, more than Smillie. People overrating how fast someone can run.
Yeah, I'm on the Langford train. For me I’d be going Langford over Reid. That extra height and ability to take grabs up forward makes up for the lack of speed.
Every player shouldEvery player should be nicknamed 'The Wizard'
Assuming Reid won't last to pick 9, would you take him at pick 5?So many Reid haters, more than Smillie. People overrating how fast someone can run.
If Smith and Draper were gone and we were left with the rest id consider it, no idea which way id go out of the rest think you could make a case for any 4-5 players. Think he will be there at 9 though.Assuming Reid won't last to pick 9, would you take him at pick 5?
I think at 9 (which might be 11 or 12 after bids) Reid would be a great get. Too high at 5 for me.If Smith and Draper were gone and we were left with the rest id consider it, no idea which way id go out of the rest think you could make a case for any 4-5 players. Think he will be there at 9 though.
Who would you lean towards? Our choice of Smith or Draper at #5 oh baby.
I honestly dont know, let the club decide and slay them if they end up picking the worse one of the two seems the way to go.Who would you lean towards?
I doubt we'd split pick 5 if anything we would be trading picks to get to pick 5, not the other way around.I think at 9 (which might be 11 or 12 after bids) Reid would be a great get. Too high at 5 for me.
Think if Smith, FOS, Draper and Langford (which I'm really coming around too) are off the board I would be keen to split 5 if we could get another pick around 10-12 and another late first rounder.
I know you didn't ask me, but I'll chime in considering they're my two favourites. I think Smith is more of a sure thing to become a gun AFL player, and I'd say he's perhaps the 'smarter' footballer of the two. Whereas I'd argue that, if both players reach their potential, Draper might be a better fit in terms of our skill deficits (while Smith is also pretty quick, Draper explodes out of stoppages and carries the ball more). Smith's disposal might (?) be a bit cleaner at this stage, but the metres gained damage will come more from Draper.Who would you lean towards?
Think the other would be gone by our pick, no? That list is including Ashcroft. Our choice of Smith or Draper at #5 oh baby.
