I'm not so sure we would have traded away 3 picks in the Top 25 of this draft just to get Pick 2, we were taking calls as early as 11 and no one could offer us enough to pull the trigger, so I just don't think it was going to be that easy

dont forget Melb still finished 14th with 11 wins last year, even if North improve, up to say 8-9 wins next year, still going to be a top 5 pick for pick 27 (and say 20 next year)

After F/A compo the F2 we traded pick is likely to be in the 22-24 range.

I'm not including the academy players or F/S because those players are not available to anybody except their nominated club (unless on the highly unlikely scenario they don't match the bid).

All jokes aside, this may be one of the biggest reamings in sporting history. This is one of those where the AFL should have stormed into that north recruitment room and started throwing hands. I still cannot believe this trade occurred. North recruiters should apologize to their fan base.

I'm more shocked that Kane Cornes still hasnt given the AFL a serve not stepping in and letting it happen.
