Agree, as much as I dislike those campaigners, I have respect for Roo. He calls a spade a spade, a straight shooter, reminding me of Hinkley in many ways. Between 2010-2012 he would frequently label Port as one of the most unfittest clubs in the AFL, he was right. Casting reputations and allegiances aside, he also publically slammed and ridiculed his old club on numerous occassions the past two years. I have no doubt he is the one who has instigated the moves to poach Walsh and Nicks.
The Roo is our enemy.

I hope this coach poaching business as of late, fires the boys up more so we can smash them in both games next year. How good would it be to win the showdown after giving them a coach or two? just know we'll fill the role either way;)

People keep saying this but he is getting more money and a higher position.

Walsh as senior coach and Nicks as senior assistant is incredibly underwhelming and screams as desperation but at least for their customers it will seem as they have at a minimum caused a huge distraction at Port!

Nicks is contracted. Koch won't be letting him walk.

Just on Walsh and his influence on our group and the style we play, I'm not saying he hasn't had an impact, the improvement in Hamish and Robbie this season alone possibly suggests he has. But Phil Walsh has been an assistant with us before, and try as I might I can't really see a signature Phil Walsh trait in the way we go about our football that crosses both those eras. The styles of the Ken Hinkley era Port Adelaide and the Mark Williams era Port Adelaide, when Walsh was previously with us, are complete polar opposites. If I can find any similarity it would be the way we get burned on a losing stoppage because all of our mids are running forward of the stoppage, allowing the opposition to waltz it out the back.
What I'm saying is the way we play football now is pure Hinkley. He's a full on hands on coach who sets the standard and the style. The assistants like Walsh just tinker around the edges.

Of course, when this venture fails, it'll be Port's fault :)

How was Brad Gotch's relationship with Port the last time around? He has a solid record as a coach and did a very good job with South Adelaide this year.

He was handed one of these

Just on Walsh, before he came to the PAFC, he was with West Coast since 2009, during which time they only made the finals twice. In 2013 they were proper crap. The very next year, he all of a sudden looks awesome... under Ken that is. Do you think he would have gotten the top job if he'd stayed at West Coast this year...no f'ing way. On top of that, he didn't even want to be a senior coach until this month! Alarm bells anyone?

The Crows are going to need a hell of a lot more than 1 or 2 of our 'assistant coaches' to replicate what we’ve got going on.

As for us, pfft, we’ll be fine. Between KT and KH, they'll be beating away the talent with a stick.

So is it confirmed yet?
Supposedly, Walsh is in the final 3 with Dew and Bolton. The Adelaide Selection panel ->

<-will make their recommendatrion to their board on Monday, and the Board needs to ratify their decision. If there are no last hurdles, the coach would most likely be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday.
I wouldn't put it past Chapman to reject Walsh if he is to be the nominee, on the basis that he is not media-friendly enough, or "too Port Adelaide"

Nah results or not, he's a legitimately good assistant coach and that's coming from our top players.

Whether or not he can cut it as a senior coach is another story. Lots of red flags for him in that regard.

Both Cornes boys, Cassisi and Shaun raved about his hand in their midfield development.

It's fair to say he would've had a fair degree of input into Gray's sudden rise too.

Interesting - the crows are accused of being a boys club especially post Tippet.

They get an outsider to be CEO. They get another outsider from the enemy in Walsh as coach. If it works they are geniuses. If it doesnt then the mob will be screaming to only select ex crowies because the outsiders were failures.

Crows fans seem think they have just pulled of the biggest heist in history...

Yeah ... sacking a coach with 2 years left on his contract in order to hire a second stringer who has never declared ambitions to be a senior coach. Yawn - wake me up if they poach Hinkley, KT, Koch, Boak, or Burgess. I was worried they were going to get Clarkson.
