No mention of drinking / non drinking areas I can see. Would guess general admission is non drinking and the rest you can?
Bronze level 1 for me I think. Should be shaded most of the day. Tickets on sale tomorrow unless you are ACF GOLD.

Wouldn't the dry area be the Milo Family Zone, in bays 125-128?

Turns out they value trivial things like advertising revenue over the important stuff such as pretty flashing lights.

I get that it'd be cool to show off the new stadium in full flight with all the bells and whistles ASAP, but we knew the reality about night matches in Perth for cricket and AFL long before this venue was designed and built. Glad you acknowledge this is CA's decision though, laying it at the collective feet of the evil Eastern States was coming off as needlessly divisive and inflammatory.

It's those bloody New South Welshmen, gotta be wearing a light blue shirt to get a game for Australia ......... etc.

Pathetic. Also seems to be a stadium decision. Cricket and night footy matches fair enough. But day footy games should have a proper beer if you want it.
Just encourages people to load up beforehand, or smuggle in hip flasks. Which is what I will likely have to do.

They didn't mention the Subi Oval 3 quarter time beer cutoff, which I assume will be followed too.

Lucky us Capt Club people can go to the River Room.

Why do VIP get to drink full strength but the rest cannot? The media never ask this question.
Someone rang up 6PR and said he's seen alcohol-fuelled violence a couple of times at the footy here over the years (follows a Vic team so rarely went to Subi) and each time it was in the corporate areas.

It's an elitist decision and as such it doesn't fly with me.

Would obviously never happen but if everyone boycotted buying mid strength crap for a few games I bet they would change their tune.

I'm a bit confused, as I heard the Health Minister applaud the decision from a health point of view. Fair enough if it was mid strength all round, but from a health point of view how can you justify full strength being provided ?.

I like a brew or two, but don't generally drink at the footy. I get too interested in the game ( umpire, play, coaching, abusing divers .... ), with all that I'd end up spilling my drink everywhere. Get peeved off with people going back and forth for drinks in the middle of a quarter !!!!.

To my point, I reckon more patrons are arriving at WA games already "tanked" up. Years ago we went to the footy and had a drink whilst there, now they have a good drink and then go to the footy. Is this a good situation ?.

Thermos flask will come in handy, .................. ooooooooooo that is strong coffee !!!!.

Is the thought that the VIP area has more well behaved people, who can handle their drinks ?.

In all my time going to Subi in it's present 2 / 3 stand structure, during moments of silence ( Anzac Day ), I feel that in the general seats that you could virtually hear a pin drop. But on at least 3 occurrences, there has been a good murmur of noise from the corporate boxes !!!.

Use the KISS principle, go 100% one way or the other, don't be half cocked when it comes to alcohol.

I have been in these corporate boxes many times and each and every time have left there pretty smashed, no RSA in these areas they just let you go to the fridge and help yourself.
When I go just as a member and sit in my seats I hardly ever have a drink watching the game but do have a couple in the Subi bar before the game.
I think as adults it should be our choice, it’s about time we go back to just throwing out the idiots and not changing the laws for the majority.

How does the Captains Club at Perth Stadium actually work? From what I can gather they have wiped the slate clean with the old Captains Club at Domain, and now it appears that all members sitting in A reserve have "priority" to be part of the Captains Club. That's roughly 9000 people? I'm wondering whether an additional fee will need to be paid to ensure A reserve members can be part of this.
