I was going to say all playing tomorrow or have been in the team. Got a bit lazy.

But it’s hard for the depth to do much if it’s really scrapping bottom of the barrel stuff.

There’s perhaps 3-4 WAFL players in the team tomorrow
Banfield
Worner
Voss
Dudley
I get what you are saying.

But if we had everyone fit, surely the likes of Switta, Wagner, Draper, Fyfe and Walters would all be on the fringes of best 22?

I think we go from a potentially best sever Freo best 25 to a pretty ordinary bottom 8 or 10 of the whole squad.

Should bring Sebit back in the MSD
At this stage I'm passing at the MSD tbh.

Being worse than we should be or injuries might change that opinion.

But I think in terms of drafting new players it's National Draft > Rookie Draft > Mid Season Draft. The exceptions would be the first 2-3 picks in the MSD which we won't have. Unless we need the player this year we're being off waiting until years end IMO.

People being a bit harsh on Delean, he's played 12 league games in the worse position you could possibly play. He looked much better today playing high half forward/wing. The club obviously thinks that where his future lies, or at least not as a small forward.

Narkle was very good today and would add more class if he was to replace some of our 22nd and 23rd players.

Yeah thought of that when they announced the coaching spot.

Peel will struggle this season with the talls. Unless Voss and Reidy play together, when Jackson and Darcy are back

I think South and Claremont are probably going to be near the top of the WAFL ladder this year.

Peel had McDonald, Riddle and Tregenza as their tall forwards, and probably Fyfe would have spent some time there if he'd seen out the game. Sears was another medium size, who I'm not sure if he played the game out or just wasn't seen much. Tregenza really had a shocker today. Also Hancock wasn't even named in either Peel's reserves or league squad but ended up playing so he must have been in doubt.

Main issue was not enough entries, but who'd want to be a forward trying to read the play upfield with the way Peel were short kicking backwards and criss-cross and constantly missing targets. Delean had a go, although he probably got most of his possessions outside of the forward 50m.

It depends if Peel have rolling injuries that keeps the line-up short of options or if some of the injured players like Walters, Sturt come back and the flow on from getting players back and having a few players you've mentioned drop back from AFL to WAFL.

A couple of the players they recruited in the off-season from Victoria both played in the reserves today.

Very uniformed to think im basing it off one game and not watching and commenting on Peel as much as anyone on here
Ive watched Peel this year albeit online only and I watched every game last year (with a few live games) too. I agree with you Snuff that he's been very underwhelming this year and towards the end of ast year before the finals. It would be hard to stay motivated when you know the coach will only play you as a last resort requiring a ton of injuries. He's contracted until 2026 so he's a waste of a list spot if he cant at least get back to his 2024 WAFL form and be ready to play a role if we do get mass injuries. Currently he looks miles off being a handy depth player to be honest and Ive supported playing him in the past when his form ws better.

Ill watch the game on 7Plus tomorrow as I was busy today. Where did Narkle play? Was it mostly forward or midfield or 50/50.

I'm not convinced he lacks courage or the contest. I saw him back into a pack today knowing he could be killed. I feel like he just doesn't know when he should go or not, likes its a decision malong rhing. It's not like you don't see him tackling or competing
Could be, yes.

Simpson another 30+ on the back flank, did he go alright or just cheap touches
Apparently there is a disposal, a possession, a kick and a "bloody good one my son". See Paracleet for details and an instructional video.

Not sure wherein amongst those options any or all of Coopy Coop's WAFL jaunt fits.

He made a few disposal errors. Like has been mentioned already he didn’t quite pull the trigger on a corridor kick at the right time and didn’t always take the right option. What he did do though is make a few good spoils and put himself in the right spot. Also had a heavy fall early in the 3rd but managed to get back on and play out the game.

Peel had limited bench rotations.

One player I’m increasingly disappointed in with lack of development from last year is Reidy. Reidy won the hit outs comfortably but telegraphs his taps and not to advantage.

Watching Oliver Eastland we could do worse than add him as mature age back-up. You can see why Walls was so disappointed to miss out on Mitch Edwards a couple of years ago.

Concerning that there is nothing at the real bottom end of the list. Probably going to get nothing out of Reidy, Brodie, Fyfe this year. Jones as harsh as it is to say, is probably a waste of a spot. So zero contribution from four players. Concerned for Ollie Murphy, way poorer than expected. In fact, the entire draft class from last season is starting to look a bust.

We all want Simpson to be good but there're some really worrying signs. Shirks the contest a bit and has poor decision making that makes his relatively good disposal redundant.

Just one game and maybe it was a bad day vs a good opponent, but yeah concerning day.

Delean looks a bust
Erasmus I am hopeful, but has big question marks
Sturt is never fit.
Narkle is a level below I expected. Poor skills.
Aish has dropped back significantly from 2 years ago.

We probably only have roughly 27 players who should get a game.

I know you hate a lot of these older recycled guys but Narkle looks like a reasonable pick up to me. Was the best Peel player I thought today.

Oooo Aiden might not have filed his retirement paperwork entirely appropriately to be medically stood down..
There is no way on Earth the AFL tick him off to return to play.

The concussion was bad enough to cancel a practice match.

The AFL don't want something that bad happening with thousands of people and cameras watching.

I don't know anything 'needs' to happen particularly soon? What's the rush? Does it free up a list spot? Is that a need of ours?

Yea it’s all bit melodramatic isn’t ?

I mean I get he’s pretty much finished but I thought this would be his last year anyway so I’m kinda bewildered while some see so keen to put him out to pasture

He’s not a laim racehorse ffs where we need to take him out the back straight after the race(game) and put him down!
