AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
I went to the first night, but am now very jealous of the set list from the second night! It was epic. I was in the golden circle tonight and god they were so good still.
I didn’t know this til after but the first night had a better setlist for me - lots of favs like Corduroy, In my tree, Just breathe, Hail, state of love and trust which weren’t played tonight. But we did get Black into Rearviewmirror which was nuts. RVM was the best song of the night.
Then you were well catered for. It was a great show but my only (mild) criticism is that is was basically just their new album and music for fans that stopped listening after Yield. I love the classics but wouldn’t have minded a couple more from the 2000s.Went tonight despite only knowing their early stuff was an awesome show
I quite liked the new songs - they sounded great live, but yeh for the audience as a whole it was not as well received as the older stuff (as is to be expected).Had a great 2 nights, stood probably 15meters away from front for both shows. (1st show centre, 2nd show on Mike McCready side)
Probably enjoyed the Monday night a little more as the weather was much more bearable.
1st show highlights - Why Go opener, Hail hail, Not for You, Garden, State of love & trust and Mind your Manners.
2nd Show highlights - Porch early in the set was a surprise, Last Exit, Deep, Light Years, daughters its OK tag, Black & Rear view Mirror.
Although most of the new songs sound very good live, Seemed to lull the crowd a bit, as you would expect from a stadium show, there are many casual fans wanting the hits.
What makes the Pearl Jam experience great, You never know what you are going to get, much more exciting than the standard choreographed show.
Mc Cready is a weapon!
The new album is very good, I’ve had it on rotation since it was released, and the songs all sounded great live. That said, six from the new album was a lot, think they could have cut one or two and given us something off Lightning Bolt or Riot Act or No Code. I really wanted to hear Smile live but no dice.
I was talking about this with my wife beforehand, 12 albums, b-sides, covers etc, I figured they had somewhere between 150 and 200 songs to choose from and a set list of around 25. Obviously there’s lots of album tracks that don’t get a run. But to get something from every album, you’d be capped at two. Obviously Ten gets more love than that, Vs and Vitalogy usually, plus they are touring the new album, so it gets a spin. Something has to give. They got hell of alot of songs.
Hard for them to play everything.
I think they played 25 songs Monday night.
Are you going Saturday i bet they will play it.Damn. 3 out of 4 shows they have played Black - and I went to the only one they didn't! Devastated
No, could only get to Melbourne night 1. It was a great night. Brilliant concert, but you could have dropped State of Love and Trust or Rockin in the free world or Yellow Ledbetter and had Black instead. Are you going Saturday i bet they will play it.
I've looked at all the other set lists and felt jealous for some songs being played, but know others will look at the set list I saw and feel the same. Hell with it, if they tour again, I'm just gonna have to follow them around the country and catch multiple shows. No, could only get to Melbourne night 1. It was a great night. Probably would have capped off a perfect night.
I can't believe Sydney got Release, Black and Indifference. Amazing.
100% the same.I've looked at all the other set lists and felt jealous for some songs being played, but know others will look at the set list I saw and feel the same. Hell with it, if they tour again, I'm just gonna have to follow them around the country and catch multiple shows.
Unlucky .Damn. 3 out of 4 shows they have played Black - and I went to the only one they didn't! Devastated
Eddie said these 2 people got married and they going to every PJ show in the Oz tour.100% the same.
While I see some other shows and wish I had some other songs, to get what I did, I'm also very happy.
I've long been a big fan of Garden and felt like it gets overlooked on the Ten album, so to get that was a massive bonus.
How any band can just dip in and out of a 200 song catalogue is beyond me. Simply amazing.
When I win the lottery, I'm going to travel America and follow them on their next tour. Go to every bloody concert until I see Rats live
Might be going a little bit far...Eddie said these 2 people got married and they going to every PJ show in the Oz tour.
Bride even had a pj badge sowed to the wedding dress .
Afford it and being lucky enough to get tickets are too different things .Might be going a little bit far...
I heard of lots of people going to all the shows. I also saw lots from oversees in Melbourne . I know of a group of guys who went to NZ and then every show in Aus.
Wish I could afford it!
True!Afford it and being lucky enough to get tickets are too different things .
We tried for sat night Melbourne no luck..but went Monday night.
Would of loved both ...but happy what we got.
