Re: Official GVFL thread

It's only half way through the season. Are you writting off Rochy already?

If Rochy don't start stringing together some victories then yes, you would almost have to say that the season is over. They were spruiked as one of the big improvers and top 2-3 material at the start of the season, and are not delivering. They have escaped the blowtorch so far in respect of their poor season thus far. Can they stand up and be counted cos on list capabilities they should be right in contention come september.

Re: Official GVFL thread

I'm more a Wild Turkey man myself and I'll be giving the Shepp stocks a shake if the Swans make the grand final as I'll be down from Brisbane.

Might not have functioned as well as they might have liked but it looks like the Swans have 15 bloke who can kick goals no 2 or 3 so if its not going to plan others step up.

Mum will be heading down on Friday to watch the Swans vs Shepp game so watch out Bears...

Re: Official GVFL thread

Why not compare the two teams? They have both under-acheived (Euroa moreso).
Additionally, the club has had a fair few injuries: Aitken, Ash Watson, Schmidt, Whitsed, Bowen, Oliver, Montague and Letcher have all missed game.
I have no idea about Dirty this year. I don't know if he has lost the players or what's going on. I'm not going to guess.
Five of those players played in the loss at home against Mansfield, so id say you cant blame injury for their bad form.
The question I have is in their coach and the way he coaches. If you want to compare Rochester with Euroa, yes Euroa should have won the 2005 Premiership on form and with the inclusions should have done better in 2006. They have already had trouble with getting a coach and then the resigned coach threatened to walk out after a handfull of games. Euroa now seem to playing to their ability, is it because they now play for the coach or in spite of their coach (who really knows outside the club). But surely Rochester should be right up there with the contenders for this year.
Finally is there anymore tickets available for the swan's bandwagon, ill book one. :D

I'll have to check with React but I think we can squeeze you in next to the 30 and under cheerleaders seats. Remember everyone be quick so you don't get the cargo bay where the smelly footy socks are stored on the way home.

Five of that may have played, but how do you get form when you can't train or play? Are players supposed to just magically dominate games after a lay-off?

And what about the coach. How is he responsible? What's wrong with the way he coaches? Don't just throw statements out there. Give us some evidence or discuss it.

:D

"ALL ABOARD!"
Welcome Doger...economy seats down back where its starting to get packed or "Peter's Premier seating" up front mate - first class up there.
Thanks for running it by me morphous, by seasons end we might have a convoy!
Any of you blokes know Cameron Whitzell? Thought he was playing at one of the Shep sides a few years back. Might've been in the two's, not sure.

Re: Official GVFL thread

I don't think kurt_11 will be replying. He's been red carded which means he cannot post on BigFooty anymore.
....obviously he's put the hands in the back and the big footy Ump has pulled him up! He's sitting in front of a PC somewhere going off tap a-la Richo or Cloke!

Yeah, he played Scoobies. Kicked lots of goals for a couple of years there and might have even finished runner-up in the league goalkicking a couple of times.

Thanks boys. Agree- good bloke. Sounds like he was exactly like his older brother. a forward who slotted quite a few goals. Funny bastards.
What does the form read like for P.Newman from Ky?

as good as it can be when playing for a bottom team. plays midfield abit so he can get a kick. the ball doesnt visit him much in the goal square

I saw he was listed in that rep. side though! I do know that in the past he has played really well in those rep sides.

Re: Official GVFL thread

i hope tatura goes well today in the battle of the wooden spooners. paul neville to kick 5 from the pocket.

Re: Official GVFL thread

How has Stotty been for Benalla this year? And J. Rockcliff named in the Salnts side, can anyone give some info on him?

givehead67 - I think Wes Stott is starting to hit a bit of form after a slow start - and James Rockliff(21) and Tom Rockliff(15-16) sons of Geoff and Jill.

But maybe a Benalla supporter can confirm this info.

Tat got beaten easily by Ky. But the battle for the spon is still on. Both teams are on same points and play each other in the last game of the year.
