I'm sure the fixture will make a difference. If we get another good draw then it should bring more memberships... not a lot more, but plenty of families would weigh up the value of memberships vs. just paying for tickets to the few games they can go to each year. I know some people here will be all "but you should support the club if you barrack for them!!111 they tuk our jerbs!!1" but for some people money issues are more important than their footy club.

Today: 13,335
Something to compare too:

21/10/09 - 10,000
25/10/10 - 9,773

November was a big month last year for the 2011 membership drive so the number look a little off now. If we keep up the same momentum through November & December as we did last year will will be about 23-25k by years end.

Re: Official 2012 Melbourne Membership Thread - Campaign Launched

Trident is great. my reserved seat is in bay N52. Nearly as good as it gets. I think legends are in N49 and corporates are usually N50 & 51

N53 for me love the seats great membership is the trident if you can afford it

15k by the start of November will put us 5k up on this time last year.

If we can get the Nov/Dec flood we did last year we will be going great by the end of the year, a possible 25k by early to mid Jan would be sensational.

Without knowing how much of the equivalent figure for last year was made up of auto-renewal it is a little hard to guage things. Regardless, if we can hold the same momentum from now on to end of June then 40k is a reality.

For sure, I think we will on the last 3-4 years of membership increases.

Got to get one for myself and fiance pretty soon, probably around Xmas.

I have an ethical dilemma;

I'm on the waiting list for an MCC Membership (but will pay for the 'Melbourne' component of that as well) but even so most of my footy going mates are MCC members.

I want to support the club (and this is the first year where it's been economically viable for me to purchase a membership - my parents refused while I was at school); but realistically I'm not going to be using the membership much; if at all.

I do purchase new merchandise yearly and attend every Melbourne based game, but still...

I feel like a bad supporter.

I feel you, mate.

I console myself by rolling around on top of my mountain of Dees merchandise, weeping uncontrollably.

As far as I can tell, the MFC/MCC Membership is a very expensive scarf. I'm happy to give the club something for nothing though.

If you attend every Melbourne based game Puppet how is it not viable to purchase a membership. You effectively pay a little less overall than what you would at the gate. Plus the club gets the money, instead of the AFL distributing it.

I can't talk though however as i only bought a membership for the first time this year because I stopped going to the footy because the AFL has sanitised it that much and because of the way this club had been going about stuff, drove me insane.

Guessing it's not viable as he will be buying MCC visitors tix every game? I had that dilemma for a bit but have been MCC/MFC for a while now.

TPM- buy a 3 game membership so u get counted and use them on the Etihad home game and the odd one where ur MCC mates can't go.

Exactly D86; that's a very good idea as well.

I think I'll do that!

TPM, I feel a bit the same way because I buy an AFL membership. (I like to watch AFL footy, not just MFC games.) But I do buy merchandise from the club, attend a couple of functions each year, travel interstate, buy raffle tickets, pitched in every year for Debt Demolition, even chip in for player sponsorship now.

You do the same, and as such, have no reason to feel like a bad supporter!

I used my membership 0 times last season. Went every time into afl members on a mates membership and will do it again for the good seats. I'll still renew though, just better be a high quality scarf.

Encouraging to see big memberships in a year that we lost a game by 186 points, had the biggest losing margin in the competition, including the Gold Coast (I think) and lost to the 15th placed side.
