Multiplat Oblivion Remaster

I was about to go to Kvatch and then remembered doing that quest causes Oblivion gates to open in the world. I'm having too much of a good time just exploring without having to worry about Daedra appearing everywhere.

I got to Kvatch and then logged off for the night. Are you suggesting I don't proceed with the quest for now and just adventure a bit? I've never played this before so its all new to me.

I never played Oblivion and probably wouldn't have worried about playing the remastered version

But then I realized that it is on gamepass so play a way I will as I need a new game to hook me in

Yes.

Got home last night to see it was downloaded, played through the opening quest, super excited to leave the sewers, only for it to say it still had 3 hours left to download. 🤦‍♂️

Have they even play tested the difficulty setting??

I started out on "expert" and you constantly come across damage sponge enemies who can one shot you.

I watched a couple of twitch streamers try the "master" difficulty and they were getting one shot by everything ,even mud crabs and rats.

Then I tested "adept" and its easy street . The enemies that were destroying you now go down in two hits.

This hits me right in the nostalgia.
This was my go-to game in high school and IMO a much better game than Skyrim (outside of the graphics).
The cost for the new version is quite steep, however, I might purchase it when I have some spare time and relive the adventures (particularly that Dark Brotherhood series of quests).

Agree about the cost. I thought it was $49.99 which seemed incredible value but that was the US store.

Yeah, so it took less than 24 hours and I caved in and bought it.
I hope at some point mods will be available (I'm not sure if the game infrastructure allows it).

There has been some speculation that this won't be able to handle mods but the Skyblivion version when released will be what those who want to play a modded version will gravitate to.

Yeah, but that looks like a massive step down graphically.
I could buy that the Remaster looks like a current generation game (at least in the aesthetics).

Was up to my old tricks last night, spamming acrobatics and spells just to increase level before I head out into the wild. I've just left the sewers and have cleared the dungeon across the river, and due to my spamming I'm already at Level 9.

Have they kept levelling the exact same? I remember you could game the system by picking useless skills as your major ones (the ones that would boost your character level when you slept) and power-levelling the skills you want while staying at a low character level (if you didn't sleep you didn't move up a level).

So you could become quite powerful staying low level, and because the enemies levelled with you they'd stay pissweak.

Did they change that? Moving up levels by sleeping?
