Not that im aware of, i think there's just a restriction on how many fly in/interstate recruits a club can have. kdavva74 may be better at answering that one though!
no salary cap and only four fly in players per game and you must be on your teams fly in list, arundall playing in twos, williams goes very well, cloke and Dempsey solid but not outstanding always a big ask to get non-match fit players out of season put them out on a hot and humid day and hope they blitz, its just a good weekend away play some footy do some fishing and have a few drinks get put up for free and flights paid for

in other news Ohalphin saga to continue tonight, another thing ive noticed here and that is a problem that most leagues have and that's the umpires, I have never criticised umpires and I never will-they have one of the hardest and most thankless jobs in sport and I take my hat off to anyone who takes on the whistle but if you have a very high standard league you need top class umpires, you don't put a div 2 player or a fifteen year old in premier league and expect him to get BOG,the league is weak in the way it is not proactive on the umpiring scene they don't see it as their problem when it is one of the basics they should take care off, all premier league and div one umpires should get paid double what they are on now to make it worthwhile and so ex players will take it up because financially if its not too bad then umpires would come up from down south for a season like players do and if they umpire Friday Saturday and sunday you can make some good bucks and with the higher pay packet a certain standard would be expected also the tribunal must back the umpires up and there must be a zero tolerance on any abuse whatsoever especially by players

No salary cap, just a points system and restriction on fly-ins. 16 point cap, 3 points for country league player, 2 points for state/AFL player, 4 points for player from other NTFL club. You lose a point every year you play for a club. You can only have 4 fly-in players a game and 12 across a season.

What a joke that whole Ohalpin situation is. Cannot believe he got off. Doesn't matter how many times he headbutted somebody, once is enough to get you banned. Nightcliff must have some friends high up

One of the best umpires in my junior days was Gerry Wood, the politician. He struggled to keep up but was always fair and wasn't afraid to make the harsh calls. Need more umpires with a backbone. Noonan isn't bad but he gets a bit swept up in all sometimes

absolute joke, where is the duty of care if this bloke bops some young kid with his eyes on the ball in a couple of weeks who is responsible? bottom line is tribunal went to water cause he was sitting on 16 games and league too weak to do anything, Ive always found noonan does a great job, marching the big Irishman straight off proved he has a backbone I heard nightcliff payed the two o halophins a fair bit up front and if one didn't play the other wouldn't so maybe friends in high places

Yeah that was my running theory too. Front ended his payments and freaked after he was about to be cut after just 1 match. Im all for other teams like Nightcliff matching it with St Mary's, because lets be honest, NTFL can get a bit boring when it's just Saints and Muk Muks winning every year. But if a bloke already has 16 games, then chances are, whatever he is reported for is going to be legit. Gonna be interesting if he lines up against Saints again this year

yes absolute joke real mickey mouse stuff, head butt someone and get off on a 'technicality' which is what happens when you send your legal team in to muddy the waters apart from letting a thug continue playing, making the league look average and throwing common sense out the window the thing that annoys me is the head of the umpires saw what happened took a stand and made a brave decision and now it makes him look silly when all he did was the right thing, I think when saints and tigers face off it will be interesting no matter what, both want to get that edge over each other and the whole cam illiet thing is still burning, what do you think of the saints players retiring then finding they couldn't quite let go? to me seems a little embarrassing but its a free country. Went and watched saints last week, to highlight how strong this league is their opponents waratahs had 3 thunder players,a three time Magarey medallist, one of the best players in the Goulburn valley league (an ex palmy magpie) last years NTFL league best and fairest and heaps of young guns yet still got beaten by 10 goals and saints still have ten jets to return- its a hard gig.

Interesting weekend thats for sure. Saints win against Wanderers wasn't really expected after their poor start, but i guess they really are back! Tahs over Nightcliff was huge though, there wouldn't have been anybody who tipped that. Not a good performance by the Buffs either. Districts are amazing, they fly under the radar and and dominate consistently. Now 2 wins and almost 100% ahead of 2nd!

IKE TURNER Tracy Village Div 2 copped an absolute hiding from Palmerston yesterday. Considering about 2 years ago, Palmerston Div 2 were losing on average by about 100-150 points, they whipped this out. Not looking good for TV. Palmerston are lucky they have an established juniors group, and seniors, so Div 2 being cr*p was never that bad. A bit worse for Tracy though

i don't think districts are flying under the radar anymore, they absolutely smashed buffs by over a hundred points and a side which had ryan oconnor (gun) the stokes and three ex AFL players that Ugle from districts is a jet

Is Ugle the one who played for GWS? They've got Mark Jamar and Richard Tambling too, absolute guns. Not to mention Pierce Liddle and Will Farrar. I hope they manage to hold on this year, they seem to bomb out come finals all the time. Certainly going to be an interesting year. Palmy are firing a bit more this year, even though we're still bottom. Considering the personal change, i don't think we are playing too badly!

yes GWS and peel thunder, good big men up here are hard to find and its handy if you can plonk jamar in your team, districts finals efforts recently have been terrible or more to the point non-existent but with the serious amount of talent they are packing at the moment they are a real threat and the palmy boys are going ok tiwi over there is a very hard game anyone who takes palmy lightly will regret it

Waratahs are another one of those clubs you can just never rule out can you. They always string along. Exciting year though, i love it that just about all TIO Stadium games are live streamed. Get to sit in my lounge room and load youtube on my PS4 and watch the footy, pretty awesome. I've never actually asked, who do you support?

used to play for eagles years ago but just watch my son in junior footy which is a lot easier, I know what you mean about watching great footy the skills up here are pretty good there are teams down south that would love to get their hands on some of the stars up here you know you have a strong comp when players from major leagues in vic/sa are running around in div one

What a game that would have been! I watched the first half on youtube but had to take the kids out so didn't get to see the rest. Talk about dramatic though. The nerves running through Cam would have been intense!

Districts still cruising along up there, going to be hard for anyone to top them! Wanderers not looking too bad either. Brett Eddy (former Port forward) was handy for them on Friday night, kicked 4 or something like that against Palmy!

wanderers play districts this week after crocodiles demolished tiwi Eddy was a pretty handy inclusion and was probably the difference against magpies another handy in was shillabeer for Buffs who kicked 7 and won the game for them

Big drama last night with Southern Districts being found guilty of playing an illegible player against Buffaloes. Their match was reversed and submitted as a forfeit. Crazy times. Below is the new ladder
