North Melbourne should finish higher, and it would be quite concerning if West Coast go past them this year given how much talent North have had access to in recent years.
Talent doesnt make up for lack of senior bodies and leadership. Their development will take years, and missing the senior guys the development might be a bit slower than usual. North also dont have good talls, other than Larkey and Xerri

WCE will bounce back. Actually overly optimistic about them. Allen will take a massive step, Harley Reid will be like a 3rd or 4th yr player instantly. Because he'll be leading from the front in the middle he will bring everyone along for the ride.
List make up:
30 yrs or older - 5 players
23-29 - 17
18-22 - 21

The players 30 or over are Darling, McGovern, Yeo, Cripps and Gaff. They'll either be best 22 or be pushed out of the way. Win/win. Finals within 3 yrs, followed by a short peak and another bottom out.

😏😏

North had a good tall defender, his name was Ben McKay.
What happened to him? Did he fall in love with a woman from Brazil and move there with her?

They also had a good tall forward in Ben Brown, why did they get rid of him again?

North crying about their lack of talls reminds me of Carlton crying about their lack of KPFs after they traded out Fevola and Kennedy.

Both will get the spoon in their respective comps again :tearsofjoy:

Nostro you are losing your touch.

Beagles rolled the WAFL premiers last week.

Good couple of weeks for both teams. Finally have injuries within ok levels.

Battle for the spoon this arvo. Unfortunately no Harley this year for the winner. That round 23 win last season looks like a costly one doesn't it. ;) :thumbsu: We can never thank North enough.

You seen Ben Brown play since leaving? Was serviceable in the premiership year other than that.... Larkey probably doesn't develop as quickly as what he has if he stays either. Happy to cop cristism for the list management but BBB move is not the one to be bringing up.

It’s not like North don’t have the experienced players they just constantly pick the wrong ones. All this time and the have never bothered to get a big bodied midfielder .

You gotta get older players in who protect the younger ones. Stephens and Fisher couldn’t protect a chicken from mad cow disease never mind a teammate. Yeo guiding and protecting Reid the whole way through so far. Worth his weight in gold.

As good as LDU is, hes the wrong type of mid to surround with teenagers

Admittedly I nicked this off reddit but North are far ahead in their list rebuild than West Coast. West Coast have barely started
And yet....😂

Wardlaw is the biggest factor here.

It looks likely we will be adding a B&F candidate to the side week in week out compared to last year.

Not only that, he's going to bring absolute manic elite defensive pressure around the ball. Something we have struggled with for 4-5 years.

The average supporter has no idea what they are dealing with here yet and he looks fit and strong in early pre-season games. He's a level above both Ashcroft and Sheezel and I think the AFL world will see that this year.

McKercher likely finishes top 5-10 as well, injury permitting, so that alone will be a massive injection into the side imo, particularly if you factor in LDU not missing 50% of the season either.

No idea what the Weagles will be like, but looking at us in isolation, I do think this is the year we finally start to claw ourselves back up the ladder.

LDU and Wardlaw's fitness will decide how high we go.
When?

Who will be better?? The side that took Harley Reid.
Will never understand Clarko's decision to go hard for the R24 win against an unmotivated Suns side in Hobart last year. Definition of nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Harley Reid is probably going to haunt North for at least the next five years and possibly more as Tasmania is about to make their task of rebuilding considerably more difficult.
